| results of session with the trainer and my dog she was here two hours. she said he is a very scared little boy (given what happened with the mugging and he being lost) is making this worse. now he wont even go outside even to pee . he is very scared of everything and i am so sorry for him. in the stret even with me he wont walk just want to go back hom and at home he doesnt play, he just lays in bed his eyes all wet..... she said the best thing to do was to take him to pee on schedule, feed him on schedule, remove the wee wee pads and for the next 2 weeks keep his leash on in the house (always near me) so i know when he wants to go outside, she said he will tell me with signals) she also said to buy him a bell for the collar that way i can always hear him even if i am not looking. she said when he becomes more comfortable wit hthe outside he will want to go and pee but right now he is too scared to want to go... shetold me not to get involved between he and the cat. she said never go give him all his toys at once but to tgive him one or two and rotate them, she said not to leave the toy box where he can get it. she said also not to comfort him too much when he is afraid in the street as he has to learn by doing, she said to try to take him out as much as possible so he will lose the fear of being outside. she said he is too sensitive for a one year old but that being in touch with people will help, also she said that if people ask me to pet him to give them a treat to give to him so he will lose the fear of people. she told me not to pay too much attention to bad behavior because when i say "NO" or "BAD" i reinforce the bad behavior , she said act with signals and treats not words. she said is a good idea i use the clicker. i am seeing her again in a few weeks. she left me the schedule, he shouldl be walk 5 times a day for two weeks but the wee wee pads must go immediately. also the told me to use bio detergent becuase htats the only think that will take out the smell so he doesnt go to the same spots.
