| Apprehensive about getting my 2nd yorkie... Ok, so everyone has said how great and wonderful getting a second yorkie is, but are there any drawbacks at all?! Everything is just going so great with Hobbs, that I am a little apprehensive about getting the second one, which we are supposed to be getting around the first of July. Hobbs is just so good and well behaved that I feel like it is too good to be true...you know? I feel like that we are going to get our "pay back" when we get our second one. We have recently started having to leave Hobbs at home all day by himself when he is used to having us around all day everyday. That is one reason why we decided to get the second one because I know Hobbs would love to have a little playmate to keep him company. But I am just nervous for some reason. Will I love the second one as much as I love Hobbs?? Is it hard to travel in the car with 2 dogs? My husband's parents live out of town and they are not "small dog" people...they have just recently started warming up to Hobbs. I am nervous about what they will act like when we visit with 2 little dogs now. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely excited about getting my little girl, but any words of encouragement to ease my anxiety?! Is it normal for me to be feeling like this? Thanks in advance for all your support! |

| Oh dont worry they will do fine together. I have a male and a female and love having one of both. I dont have any dominance or jealousy problems with my two. They keep each other company and are good companions.

| It is normal for you to feel that way. I got my little girl last Friday and I felt the same way. I questioned myself at the very last minute because Timmy is so good. One thing is that they do have different personalities. It is hard work because Timmy is a little over 3 months and Mimi is 2 months so I am trying to teach them both. I tell you one thing when they are both looking at me I melt and nothing matters. I wouldn't change anything! |

| I have a male and a female and they both get along great. My parent's also live out of town and traveling by car really isn't that much of a hassle except they both take up the entire back seat with their travel kennels and other items. They are not exactly "light packers" It's certainly more work having 2--especially in the beginning with regard to housebreaking and training but I LOVE having 2 yorkies. I can honestly say that I will always have more than 1. I love them both so much

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I have two girls, but I think it is a great thing that you are getting a second one!! Will you love the 2nd one as much....how can you possibly not?? I love both of my girls to death, they mean so much to be and I know they love having each other around! It keeps them both calmer while we are gone...and their different personalities are so much fun!! They each bring something different to the table and that is what is so great about having two!! Yes, there will be more vet bills and more potty training and food and normal expenses but there will also be twice the yorkie hugs and kisses and double the love!!

| You will love both your babies the same. I just received my second yorkie as a gift 3 weeks ago. Kobe just now sat by her this weekend. It is taking him a while to warm up to Kali. She is a bit too agressive for him. Kobe has always been very loving and laid back. Kali is very loving and full of energy. We make small streps everyday but it is more work. Would I give Kali back........no way. |

| You will love having 2 babies . . . and they will love you for it as they will keep each other entertained when you are not able to be there. If you give the same time and love as you do your first, then everything will be okay. I take my Tiger for walks and Annika sees me do it only because I want her to know that there are things Tiger can do that she can't. The same way when I take Annika out and leave Tiger behind I do the same. It is funny because Annika would always bark whenever I leave with Tiger but she has gotten the hang of it and knows we will be back shortly so she does not bark anymore . . . the only cons I see if more $$$$$ spent on vet visits and when you are pampering them. Can't wait to see pictures of your new one! |
