| puppy shedding?? My puppy is about 9 months old and he has all of the sudden started shedding. It is really driving us crazy. My vet told me that he could be loosing his puppy hair or he could not be getting enough fatty acid oils in his diet, so my vet gave me the fatty oil pills so maybe that will help. I know that yorkies are not supose to shed so has anyone ever had a problem like this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

| I have talked to my vet and we are trying a few things to see if that will help. We use this prescription shampoo called epi-smooth and some other meds so maybe this will help, we just started these meds so we will see I guess. Thank you for the advice. I just wanted to see if anyone else had ever had problems like these.

| "ranger" had a "hair loss" problem a while back........ i think it was on the hind leg or something... the hair was still there, but it was just really fine and beige in color instead of the darker grey/black |

| Hi Cajun, I would go back to the vet and ask for a thyroid panel.. If the levels are normal then it is proabably dietary. I would suggest the links below for info for possible diet. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...62&postcount=3 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...74&postcount=8 Cheers, Deborah |

| It might also be a genetic defect. Are you able to check out his family history? Good luck.

| thanks for all of the advice, I am going to talk to my vet again about the thyroid thing and see if that is whats wrong. I would think if it is a genetic defect he would have started doing it before now, he is almost 1 year old.
