| Yorkie Size I bought my first Yorkie baby boy. He is four months old but I failed to have a look at his parents. (I got him from another state over the internet) He was so cute, I had to have him. My question is, he is already 4.7 pounds. Does anyone know, the typical weight that a puppy should be at four months. I know their are tea cup yorkies, which I know is not what I have but I was just curious when do they stop growing. I know a typical yorkie is not supposed to get over 7 lbs. (I think ) I was hoping mine would not get over 5lbs. Doesn't look like that is going to happen. I love him all the same, I was just wondering about the size and growth of a puppy and when do they typically stop growing. I will post some pics very soon so that you all can see my sweet Sebastian. I am very new here to this site. By the way, I love it!!

| Its hard to tell without knowing the parent weights. Chachi grew untill he was 11 months old. Jewels quit growing at 7 months so all yorkies growth patterns are different.

| I couldn’t tell you what to expect but I can tell you that it took ginger 8 months to get to 4.6 lbs with a 7 lb Mom and a 6 lb Dad, and she was the biggest female of her siblings. Now at a year old she’s 5.3. So even if you do know the weight of the parents it’s still hard to predict, but most of the time a good indicator. Is it too late to ask the breeder?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome can't wait to see picks. Cali was 1 lb at 10 weeks and now at 11 months she's 4.5 lbs. So it all depends on their growth pattern. He will most likey be 6-7 lbs if I had to guess. Which is a great size.

| Thanks for the information. I think I will try to contact the breeder. This is my first dog and I did not ask all the questions when I got him. With my lack of knowledge, I am just grateful that he is a healthy and happy dog.

| My guestimate is that your boy will weigh close to the 7 pounds. A picture would help too....to see the bone structure. Calling the breeder in another state may not help you a whole lot....not to be ignorant, but they can tell you anything they want. I look forward to seeing pictures of him....I bet he is totally adorable! You are going to have so much fun with him ! |

| Seb's Mommy, I am right there with you i just got my first yorkie and didnt ask the right question and i got very excited that i was getting the yorkie puppy instead of the mix i had orginally went to see, now i m thinking that remmie will be much bigger than i wanted, at 13 weeks he is 4.3lbs so i was told i shouldnt breed him, and that disappointed me a little. because i wanted to get a female too, soon. also his ears dont stand up, but i am working on taping them to fix. anyone think i have a chance of Remmie not being 9-10lbs??? |

| To Tammy I think yours will be about 9 pounds, but you never know. It seems very common for the over standard weight Yorkies to not have erect ears. |

| I also have a question about size and weight. Scampers is almost five months old and weighs 5.2 pounds. His mother was 7 and father was 5. At 3 months he weighed 2.5 pounds. At four months he weighed 3.2 pounds. Then from four months to five months he hit a growth spurt. His growing has started to slow down now, but he does not look like 5 pounds to me, any idea or guess on how big he will be??? This is a close up picture of him.

| It's HARD to predict adult weight/size! Chanel was predicted to be 2lbs full grown, THANK God...she grew more, she's now almost hitting 4,5 lbs Some keep growing for a long period of time, others stop earlier. I know, this isnt much help, but i say just be patient and see... i know of people that told me, you can judge adult size by the size of the paws, but i'm really not sure. There will be more people on this board that can help you with more information

| For Scamper From his 3 month weight I would have guessed between 5 and 6 pounds, but mine have all grown up to 10 months so now I'm going to guess 7 pounds. Since he just had that growth spurt though he still may only be 6 pounds. He looks like he has a very full coat so I'm sure that is adding some weight. |
