| Eye color I have noticed that when you take pictures of yorkies the eye color is different than most breeds. Rather than having red eyes, I have seen them with blue, green or an orange color. I once read that this will tell you what kind of coat your dog will have, soft, silky,etc... Is this true, and if so what color stands for what coat type?

| I don't believe the whole eye color coat type myth. My yorkie has very long, silky coat (hardley ever mats) but her eyes are yellow when photographed and I was told on this forum that means she has a cotton coat. So I just don't beleive the whole thing. |

| I believe yellow or green means silky and red or orange means cootton or wool. And babies are always blue. it was explained to me, cool colors = silk or cool coat. Warm colors= warm coat. How ever many do not believe this and many swear by it. |

Probably the reason yorkies get the different color is becaue other dogs all have warm coats. Sillky coats should beel cool to the touch. Like satin sheets. | |
