| To buy or not to buy..... Or everyone here is a dozie of a queston for you all. I have only recently gotten my first puppy and I just adore her. I kove the little smile she brings to my face each time she does something cute or snuggles next to me. Now when I bought her I did plan on learning to show and then possibly someday breed her if the circumstances were right. ( as in she is big enough, is heathy enough and has qualites that make her a prime canidate for helping get closer to that breed standard) I have also come to the conclusion that I am hopolessly in love with the breed and have been chomping at the bit to buy another pup. Well I think I may have found one. He is a really beautiful dog and a personality to die for. He is only a baby still so I would have to wait another several weeks to bring him home. My problem or delemma is how do I know if it is the right thing to do. I know I have enough love for both pupies, and I think both have potential to be great quality show dogs. He is also AKC with good lines. I just dont want to make a mistake and short change the puppy time with Bridget. I think she would enjoy another pup becasue she loves to play with my cat and they can chase each other for hours. What are some things I should consider before I buy another baby? I am aware of the vet cost and maintence of these little guys and that is not a problem. I just want to make the right desicion, and right now, I am leaning very much towards getting him. Any thoughs and suggestions wuld be appricated, esp from thos of you that have more than one Yorkie.

| I have a 14 week old pup and a 9 week old pup. My breeder said yorkies do well in pairs. Alot of people I see have mom and pop yorkies. Ours have turned out that way. The male favors my husband and the female favors me. I would say do it. You will be happy you did. The only complications that I can think of is potty training is harder and sometimes the older pup can get too aggressive with the younger pup. He just wants to play but we usually have to get after him a couple times a day. You definitely have to make sure you are giving them both attention as there is definite sibling rivalry. Good luck on your decision. I am sure you will make the best decision for you and your family.

| Good luck with your decision. I have no advice as I find myself looking at or researching puppies everyday when I have the most loving puppy at home.

| When Mojo was about 7-8 months we adopted Byron, a 2 yr chihuahua mix, and they bonded instantly. Mojo was not jealous at all...just make sure that you do give them both attention...i think they really enjoy having a canine companion! |

| If you can do it, I say go for it. Personally for me, I would not be able to handle two puppies. I'm thinking of a kitten or cat as a companion for my pup. |

| Marlee - I am so glad you asked this question. I am in the same boat as you are wanting to get Kodah a playmate. My daughter has a 6 month old chihuahua named Paisley that I keep sometimes & Kodah just runs her little legs off playing with her. She plays well by herself, & will play with me as long as I am willing to play chase & pull her favorite rope toy, but when Paisley comes over she is entertained forever until she plops in her bed for a nap. Kodah is only ten weeks old now & I'm just not sure when the best time is to bring in a second one. I'm not trying to butt in on your post but I, too, will be interested to hear the opinions of those that have more than one! What will the age difference be on your two puppies & how is Bridget doing with potty training? |

| I have to ditto what Kim said. I'll be looking for a playmate for Bailey within the next year and agree, if you can afford it & have enough time, go for it! |

| we are definatly still working on potty training, but I hope by the time this little guy can come home that will be dealt with. I guess to me (this might sound bad)if they have a few accidents I dont worry that much. I have had large dobermans for years and well I will take the little piddle and poo Bridget makes in the wrong places over that of Isis. Heck hers would be almost the same size as Bridget! Yuck. But I am woring on thed potty training, I am hopeful she will get it soon

| It really all depends on your budget and time availabilty. I have 2 Yorkies and 1 Silky. I love them. They are wonderful babies. They are always by my side no matter what.. I have a very special bond with all of them. The costs are quite high and it is very time consuming. They are just like children.... they both demand your attention at the same time. If you got the money and the time..... go for it. I love it!!!!!

| I also agonized over whether to get a second puppy and like you knew I had the time, money, love etc but didn't want to ruin what we had with Lexi but we went ahead and got Max and I know without a doubt it was the right thing to do! They play together like crazy and I feel better if I have to leave them home that they have each other. Lexi is more Daddy's girl and Max is definatley Mommy's boy and now we both have one to hold! The only thing thats not as easy is picking them both up to go bye bye where as before you always can handle 1 in any situation! |

| Buying my second yorkie was one of the best decisions I ever made. For us, it hasn't been much extra trouble at all and now I cannot imagine having just one. They are such company to each other!

| I had Apple for about 5-6 months when I decided I WANTED A YORKIE!!!!! I did worry a bit about the potential problems..but Apple was 100% trained ....just was concerned about the "activity level" with 2......now I can easily say they bounce off one another and use up tons of energy playing and making themselves tired....great for me!!!!! And Apple has been a great help in teaching Lil Bit about the pee pee pad thing. The only problem I have had is continuing Apple's training...(sit....stay.....come)....with Lil Bit it is a contest to get either ones attention for any length of time. My solution has been for hubby to take one or the other outside or downstairs TV room for a feww minutes....works great if hubby is home. Recently he has been out of town mon-thursday the past 5 weeks GO FOR IT !!!!! It always works out!!!!! |

| We just brought Lindsay home..she is 8 weeks and Napoleon is almost 11 weeks. It has been the best decision I think I could have ever made. He is soo much happier having a playmate-not to mention someone to snuggle up with at night It is so much fun to watch them play together! Heather Napoleon & Lindsay
