| Picking out a puppy OMG, I am so confused right now!!! I wake up and just got an email from my breeder. She tells me that the person in front of me for females has just backed out of the contract and now I have first pick of the females! Now, I've been focusing on the other dog that didn't get picked first and just assumed, well this is my dog, this is Adrianna. But now I get a chance to look at the other dog as well. I'm going down there on Saturday to visit the pups. Please give me some hints/tips to look for in chosing a pup at the breeders. I am now so confused....instead of just going there and the breeder giving me the second female...now I have to choose between two?!?

| If I had to pick, I will pick the first one. Something about her cute little face that says "take me home with you". If I did not have to pick, I would take them both. They are both adorable! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | They are both adorable, My opinion the 1st one has a little more coat and I think I would base it on personalities when you go visit. Any way you could get both! I wish I had gotten two at once. Keep us posted can't wait to see whih one is your little girl!

| Ok, knowing what I know now this is what I would look for: 1. Coat - silky or cottony. If both puppies have the same coat, then cross that off the list. But I would put a check mark on the silky coated puppy because this is the easiest type to maintain. 2. Are the puppies legs shorter in the front? if they are, there is a possibility of roach back (small hump to the back). You want to make sure the back is a straight line when standing on all fours and being still. 3. Ears - are they in the beginning stages of being upright. (the 2nd pictured puppy looks like it ears are on the way up). If this is an issue you do need to look at the parents too, to make sure their ears are upright. 4. Fur curly or straight? Straight is the most perferred, but it's your choice. 5. Personality - you want one that is in the middle. Not to hyper and not too shy. Now having told you all the above, my Millie has a cottony curly coat, has a very small roach to her back, her ears are up, and has an adorable personality, but can be cranky at times. But I wouldn't trade her for the world....why? Because she is quite intelligent, has been successfully 100% housebroken and is trainable in many ways. She was never a chewer (none of my belongings or furniture are damaged because of her), she was able to stay in a crate for up to 9 hours and never messed in it, was able to stay in an x-pen for up to 9 hours and never messed in it, she is not a barker (she will, but not incessantly), has free range of house while we are at work (for up to 9 hours) and she is a good little puppy and does not mess up anything and she has had this freedom since she was 10 months old, will come when called, is the perfect size of 4.5 to 5 lbs and is the love of our lives! I could not have discerned any of these traits just looking at her or observing her for any lenght of time. My husband picked her out of 2 litters and as far as I am concerned he did a great job! So you can go for looks, or go with your heart and hope to goodness you get a good one! |

| Oh, this has to be so hard for you! At least you have plenty of time to make up your mind. If they both have the same features, I would spend some time with the two and see which one picks you. When it came to picking my girl, I had first pick too. Ginger was much bigger than her sister but so much cuter, but still, I wanted a smaller yorkie. After hanging out with the two for a while and watching them play, Ginger came up and laid down on my foot. That was all the sign I needed—that was my girl. That was probably the best decision I’ve ever made. Good luck and congratulations on your new puppy!
