Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Vet recommended medications? The vet today told us to give Jack 1/4 of a tablet of Pepsid (10mg strength) to help with an upset stomach. He'd been throwing up a yellow material lately. So I'm wondering if there are other OTC medications that vets may have recommended and for what reasons. I'll start with what I've heard. Pepsid for upset stomach, 1/4 of a tablet of 10mg strength, twice a day Baby aspirin, 1/2 tablet, was OK by a YT poster's vet.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My vet just told me to give Cali the same two drugs. Cali also throws up the yellow bile. They just did a stomach and intestine biopsy to see if she has irritable bowel disease. I will let you know what they find.

| My neighbors give their Shih Tzu half a children's Benadryl a couple times per week. He has really bad allergies and gets pus in his eyes if not. They've been doing it for years without any problems. Other than that, 1/2 children's chewable Tylenol before, vet ordered of course. They always remind me of this after vaccinations because muscle by injection site can be sore and like children, they can run a low fever. |

| I have always been told that they throw up the yellow bile if they have an empty stomach for long periods. Not that you are starving him by any means. Try an extra small meal or two and see if that helps out. You can also give them Pepto as well. You would have to get the amount from the vet depending on how much they weigh. Good luck hope he feels better soon. |
