| Help!New and need some advice Let me start off my saying good morning to everyone.GOOD MORNING!!!!! Well, I am probably the newest member to this site and man do I wish I would have found it earlier. Let me just introduce myself by saying that I am a Navy sailor stationed in Maryland. I am a mother of three beautiful children, married and already have a 5 year old chihuahua(he's hawaiian). Anyway, my whole point in writing this is that my birthday is shortly coming up in April and about December time frame I told my husband that I really wanted a yorkie. I can honestly tell you that for the last 4 months I've been looking everywhere, online and locally. Seems like no one really has the little baby I'm looking for. Well, I finally run into "Yorkiepup.com"(everyone's favorite from what I gather)(Sarcasm)about late December. He has the cutest little puppies and they look like exactly what I want. Sure 1500 is a lot to spend on a dog, but I don't mind if that's what I want. Well, I start sending him emails in January asking questions,I wanted more pictures(which I did get),asked how far he is from Dallas (cause there is no way I'm letting him put that little one in cargo)I'm also originally from Dallas.First impression,he's very straight to the point and does'nt like to conversate much. I continue to watch his site. Maybe about 3 weeks later from my initial email, I write to him asking if it would be ok for my mother to pick a puppy up for me so that I can fly her here with the puppy. He responds saying that's fine. Well finally we get to earlier this month. I have a date (24Mar06) I'm going to fly my mother up with the puppy, so I call him (first time I actually speak to him on the phone) and man I felt like he just had no time to answer my questions. I felt like I was rushed and he told me the same thing I've read in this forum, that he had 1200 females, that he does'nt discuss puppies that are not on the website and that all he needed was a credit card and he could have the pup ready to fly out with my mom the same day. I'm suppose to be buying a puppy next week However, I had my husband call him today to once again go over my plans since this is suppose to happen next week. I never told him my opinion of the guy cause I know what he would say "Don't buy a puppy from him" It was no surpise when my husband called me back at work and told me the guy was an (left blank intentionally)!!! When he asked if he would come down on the price he said sure, then you can getter a bigger dog!!! I don't know what I should do. My husband said we can put a deposit down tomorrow, but you know how that goes.NON-REFUNDABLE. I feel like I really like the puppies he has on his site. He has'nt had any complaints with BBB and all the posts that I find are all hearsay.I wish I could hear from someone that has actually experienced him one on one. I'm not denying that conversating with him has not been pleasant and I feel that being that I am a potential customer of his, the communication should be better than this. Also, thing that did bother was the fact that I noticed two pups from his toy and standard page are now on the teacup page and the price for them has doubled. I can use some advice and some recommendations. The best thing for me is that if all the rumors are true, atleast I can take one out of that situation and give it lots of love. | Do not under any circumstances send this man money...There are plenty of people on here that can give you firsthand accounts of problems. He is notorious. You will not be 'rescuing' a pup by putting money in his pocket. Take the time to find a reputable breeder that you feel comfortable talking with. Whispersmom (Rini) on here is a wonderful breeder in MD and will be glad to help you. You can pm her for info. Best of luck in your search.

| Welcome! If I were you I would not put a deposit on a pup from there. No way, no how. Sorry I am in Pa as are a couple others here (also NJ and MD) and I am sure someone can help you find a pup that will closer to you, healthy and cute. You can PM me if you like. You can of course go ahead and I wish you luck. I just think you should put more stock into some of the "hearsay". |

| Welcome! I hope you like this forum and come here for any questions you may have. I honestly think you are making the wrong decision. You could get a wonderful beautiful great quality puppy elsewhere for the price that you are going to pay for that puppy. There have been many bad experiences brought about with this particular breeder. After being warned if you still walk into this adoption you are basically asking for trouble and heart break with a little one from that site. With all this being said best of luck on what ever your decionsion is. |

| Hello and Welcome to YT! I would be very careful before sending a non-refundable deposit. I have not dealt with this person. Maybe someone on YT has. Just do not rush into anything. Finding a new addition to your family should be well thought out. JMO

| Run, don't walk away from this guy. If you use the search link on YT and type in Jeff Dane you will read many sad stories of sick Yorkies he has sold to people. As sad as it is, you won't be rescuing a dog from him but just making him richer and you poorer.

| I purchased my two pups, Zowie and Bronx from Jeff Dane. I live just NE of Dallas and drove to his place near Paris TX. He has a lovely home and was a very nice person. We spent a couple of hours there and had a great time. This was over 2 years ago, and I think most of what I have ever seen is hear-say. The post mentioned above is the first time I have ever read a first hand account of a problem. Our two dogs are very healthy, very beautiful. They had a litter of puppies last May which are all healthy, great temperament dogs (I kept them all). One of our dogs was raised in Jeff's kennel, the other was by one of his breeders. At the time, he owned 2 kennels in addition to his own which he runs with his family, wife son and daughter, and helper. He had about 120 of his own dogs that run around his place and are guarded by some bigger dogs - to keep the coyote's away. As much as people bad mouth him, I have never heard of any of them going to visit to see how nice his place really is. I think he has got a bad rap, is tired of having people run him down and really doesn't have to put up with it because he has a thriving business. His dogs are 100% guaranteed. If your mother goes up there (about 2 hours), I think she will find him much more pleasant that he is on the phone. I am guessing the way some of these people are that they call and harass him all of the time and still have no real issue. That is my opinion. As I said, it has been a little more than two years since I was there. He has a great personality, is very friendly. That is my opinion which I usually keep to myself because they don't like to hear it. But I had an agreement with a friend on here that I wouldn't say anything good about him if she didn't say anything bad; and she broke her word!

| yorkiepup.com If you want to pm me, that would be fine. I also wanted to say that when a dog stays smaller, that causes the price to go up. My baby girl, I guessed she would be 4-5 pounds and she is three, her sister (who was smaller at birth) grew to a healthy 6 pounds. Zowie is 8 pounds and Bronx is 6. They were both the $750 puppies who were guessed to be larger than 4# (I think). I think they were 3# and 2# at 10 weeks when we got them. I know it seems rude, but I am sure if you put money down, his attitude will improve; as like I said, I am sure he has to put up with a lot of garbage calls and has done this for, I believe, more than 20 years - long before yorkies were so popular.

| oh i did want to add that i have no personal experience with this breeder so i cant knowingly say anything bad or good - that is why i sent you the info i did - its just a way to research people you may want to get a puppy from and its a lil more objective good luck i hope you got it and check into it on your own - i have learned the hard way what NOT researching where you get ur puppy from can land you i have 3 kids too and i know that i would have done things differently knowing some of the things and kind of people that are out there - this is why i offer the advice i know that kids get attached to a puppy and it would be hard if it ended up a sick one |

| After joining this forum, I was told some negative information regarding Jeff Dane and yorkiepup.com. I also did a lot of searches on the web to find information about him. Almost 100% of the information is hear-say or speculation reguarding the dislike of his website. I have seen his website addressing this negativity since that time, but he refuses to bend to 'popular yorkie-people opinion.' He chooses to use the term 'teacup' which is highly disliked; although, when I was looking for my baby - I think my first search was for teacup yorkie. Maybe I was ignorant at the time, but I just wanted a little yorkie. The thing I have realized through my short life (46 years) is that when people are happy, you never hear from them. Only a person who is unhappy will squeal the loudest! Join PTA (or any volunteer organization) if you have never experienced this first-hand. If you realize the numbers Jeff has placed over the past 20+ years, you would realize that the # of negative comments, proportionally, are quite small.
