Registering your Puppy! I'm assuming you mean Registering your Puppy with the American Kennel Club? If so.....your Breeder has to give you a form for you to fill-out, they would fill in all of their necessary information and leave your information blank for you to fill out. The form has all the information on it regarding the fees etc. Once you have filled out the form with a check or money order, and mail to the address enclosed on the form it should take about 3 weeks it's real easy and simple, but you cannot do it without the Breeders help, you can also call the American Kennel Club or go online? But I suggest you do it ASAP. sincee it does take a while? Besides if you do wait they also charge you "Late" fees. Not to be negative but they all say they are reputable, this is a business for them. As much as we love these fur babies, it still boils down to money!

Yes, you have to put the check or money order in. Otherwise, if your like stupid me and forget, they'll send you something basically saying: stupid we aren't going to do it for free. No really they just send you something saying we need more information, when really they need money, but I assure you it feels like they are saying: stupid.....

P.S. Fozzybear- Sorry about Syracuse losing in the first round . I was hoping to see them make it and play my Illini.

I registered my Peke, for what reason, I don't know as I spayed her. I had the papers to register Snooldes, but never did. I had her spayed, so seeing as I am not breeding her I couldn't see the necessity for it. The papers just sat in a drawer and when my Peke died, I threw them away.

Registering or not is a personal choice. If you feel especially attached to a certain name, then you can register your baby with that name and it will not be used by anyone else. It is kinda nice to see this on a form endorsed by AKC-Rini's Lil Outlaw Jesse James. Now anyone can use the name Jesse James but the part of his name that makes it unique is his alone. Now that he is dead it is good to know I will never hear another baby called by that name. Ihope that doesn't sound selfish but he was my heart of my heart..

| whisper's mom -- I know what you mean about names, but I read on my dog's papers that 30 dogs can have the same name w/ them... so they were basically saying "make it unique!" chances are no one has Rini's Lil Outlaw Jesse James, but with something like Jesse James or Stewie or Lilly its more likely.

Kristi, I saw a Yorkie that was registered with AKC as Choc Chip #23. His mom learned really fast to make the names unique. I love to sit and watch my animals name themselves. I have had a Yorkie for 3 months before namimg him. The full brother of Remi, my parti boy, just didn't seem to name himself. One day I looked and there he was-trying to climb out of the X-pen.. Ah-ha R's ClimbinJacob'sLadder- call name Jacob. Fit him to a T! I wanted an old hymn in his name cause I had named Whisper for an old hymn.. I have used lots of themes...I had a Mom who could fly out the door..R's Like the Wind Mariah. (Aussie name); her girls R's Walkabout Malinda Q (Mali); R's Com'A Waltzin' Matilda (Mati). Others had African names cause their grandad was Pharoah Blue. It is so much fun naming these babies. It is hard to name my Biewers cause that has to be done as soon as I pick them..
