babydoll face question Hi! I've just started my search for a yorkie pup and have been reading through these posts with interest...some really great advice here! We are looking for a pet, not to breed, and really just want for a happy healthy addition to the family. My question is about traits. What does it mean the "baby doll" face versus "standard"?

Welcome and good for you for researching! It means rounder face, shorter snout. Some people like the look and some breeders breed for it. example http://www.epetitepuppy.com/ It is not the standard and the Yorkshire Terrier Club mentions it in their Code of Conduct as http://www.ytca.org/ethics.html It's a personal thing. If you appreciate the look and are not concerned with the standard do your homework and find a breeder who specializes in it. good luck in your search

That's a good question. I could tell you where to begin for the standard ones (YTCA) but not sure about Texas breeders that try for babydoll face. try www.breeders.net to start just take your time. if you find a breeder that has the look you like, come back to YT and post their name to see if anyone knows anything. I know there are a lot of breeders in CA that are trying for that look. (one being that site I posted earlier) As you can see the prices are pretty extreme. good luck and DON't hold a warm puppy until after doing all of your research. they are too hard to resist and you need to learn about the breeder first.
