| Spring & Summer sufferings: Fleas, ticks, & parasites Hey guys... I am going to be living near some area that across the street is a patch of wooded area... I was wondering, how can we safely keep fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, flies(you know those annoying biting flies that lay eggs in the grass sometimes) without hurting our dogs, or ourselves. We want to spray, and not go overly holistic because quite frankly, I've tried many of those "home remedies" and they were all bogus... I -hate- ticks, and I do mean -hate-... I've come home, take a shower only to find one or two been sucking my blood for a while--- american dog ticks thank god(deer ticks are the ones to watch out for).... I usually burn them when I pick them out, throw them in a cup of alcohol, or hot boiling water. As I do not trust that just crushing it would kill it. Hate the little things... Is there an effective way to completely rid the backyard, and front yard from any insects like that? I don't want it to hurt our dogs is all but I also want to not have to worry about finding some gross tick on my head, or my dark fear of it crawling into my ear (shudder to think about it) and dealing with it... Also, fleas, mosquitoes, and flies --- really really hate those. In fact I much rather see a gross roach over a bunch of flies as the ones in the area like to bite and fly, and the house flies ruin outdoor activities... I know pools of water is a big no no... but I want to go above and beyond and remove it all. |
