| Changing Health Insurance Companies I have had Cali's current (well known) insurance for about 8 years and fortunately have never had to use it. Unfortunately her usual dental cleaning turned out to be surgery with a number of extraction and sutures. She was diagnosed with periodontal disease. Oh, guess I should add I took her to a board certified canine dentist this time because it seemed she did not seem to want to eat as before. Now she is eating like a horse. Don't know how related that might be Bottom line: my current company of 8 years refuses to pay for the surgery. I did not expect them to pay for the cleaning. Talked with Nationwide today and for just a few dollars more a month I find out they would have paid for the surgery part, but more importantly would only have considered this a preexisting situation for 6 months, at which time it would be expunged. Sooo, I am thinking of changing insurance companies. Would love to hear your thoughts and experience with this. My current company even made the comment "well you know these little dogs have mouth problems"! And I mentioned she never had before, other than routine cleanings and my brushing almost every day.

Have you even had to use the insurance before? I feel like if you haven't even managed to get use out of it and they refusing to cover it just adds wood to the fire. I can't help with selecting out a company, but consider this-- what's good health insurance if it doesn't even insure you? I mean correct me if I am wrong, but isn't health insurance supposed to you know-- cover you? Sounds like the other plan would be better. Reviews would help on that. | I guess it would depend if she has any preexisting conditions. That was rather rude what the lady said and I would complain to higher up about that.
