| Weather My neighbors wanted us to watch their 2 yorkies while they were gone for 3 days. One is about 2 years old the other 6 months old. They were leaving them in the garage with the back door open so they could go out to fenced in back yard. In the garage they could go in and out of their kennel. It is between 35-45 degrees. I thought that it was too cold for them so we brought them to our house with the kennel. We have a miniature golden doodle so the dogs are downstairs. They don't way more than 2 pounds at the most. Was I correct? They seem really scared but warmer. |

| Not only are you 100% correct, you are a total hero!! For heavens sakes...anything could happen to those babies left alone in garage with open door! They could become prey for almost any critter at that size, or stolen, or get caught up in something and hurt. I don't think the owners should get those dogs back; they either don't care about them or don't have a clue as to must have's of little Yorkies. I'm not even kidding. You, on the other hand, are compassionate and caring and wonderful to protect and save those two...! |

| I'd never leave my little boy alone for more 8 to 10 hours in the house. Doubtful I'd leave him at all outside for his protection and mine

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Yeah, 35-40 degrees is getting down there, especially for a pup. Mine go outside when it's that cold all the time, but they appreciate the warmth of the house the rest of the time.

| If I was in your shoes I would have done the same thing. 35 / 40 degrees way to cold for them, also leaving garage door open as Jkpal commented, they could become prey. Better they be scared then dead, or sick from cold. You did the right thing.

| Omigoodness. Thank God you took them inside! I couldn't imagine ever leaving my babies in a cold garage, and over such a duration. Especially if they're only 2 lbs.
