| Need help please My little Mickey has started to refuse his food. Last Friday his Malti-poo brother decided to hump him. I caught him and took Mickey away from him. Mickey is about 9 pounds and brother is 17 pounds. At the same time we started dog sitting 2 big dogs for a few days. He seemed depressed and didn't want dinner. I gave him a dose of meds in case he had hurt his bad leg. The next morning he still wouldn't eat much but did eat a little. Again that night he wouldn't eat.I wouldn't give him bites of my dinner anyway. Saturday he ate breakfast (1/4 cup of Welness) then nothing the rest of the night. Yesterday I hand fed him both meals and again this morning. Is it possible that he could just be depressed? He has beautiful teeth and no loose ones, no fever, runs and plays just fine so no pain. Any ideas?

| With all the "activity" around the house with "strange" dogs, I think he is probably just depressed....tooo many new faces, disrupting HIS palace and requiring attention from HIS momma! I have one that will pout for 3 days....she just does NOT get over it! Does this baby have a history of reacting this way to "invading HIS property by intrusive, strange dogs" ???!! I tend to be over cautious because I have to live with my decisions....if I have a dog die on me, because I thought all he had was a cough, but he had a slow leak in a ruptured something or another, I would NEVER forgive myself for not realizing the seriousness of the issue. So, I am over cautions....if I can not very quickly determine with accuracy and without a doubt, what an issue is, then I bite the bullet and take the dog in to the vet. In your scenario, it SOUNDS like to me your baby is mad and upset because of additional, new dogs on the property....in HIS house, with HIS momma, in HIS yard....but you know your baby....you know how he reacts to new situations, new dogs, strangers, etc....use your own better judgement and if you feel like it is something more than pouting because of other dogs at home, dont hesitate taking him to the vet....(and I would NOT start jumping around with different dog food....continue to feed him what he NORMALLY eats....dont further confuse the issue by "food hopping".) | Thank you so much for your advice, Yorkie Mom I think he is just jealous. He will eat if I feed him by hand. He is very jealous of mommy giving other dogs attention so I think that is his problem. The other dogs left this morning so will soon find out. Again thank you.

| Well, Yorkiemom1, we were right and thanks to reading the posts here all the time I got him to eat by himself with a little dab of parmesan cheese sprinkled on the food. It is sure good to see him playing and happy again.
