| Rawhides in the Freezer Can rawhides be put in the freezer to last longer? My boys go through a rawhide in about 30 minutes. I was thinking of putting them in the freezer to last longer. They only get it occasionally when I need to keep them busy while cleaning or doing laundry. The bully sticks only last about 10 minutes if I am lucky. \

| I don't do rawhides, but the bully sticks I buy are 6 - 9 inches and last Buddybear a long time.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Yes, you should be fine putting them in the freezer, though it's not really necessary.

| You might want to do some research on rawhide as it can be very detrimental to dogs. It may be difficult to "wean" rawhide-loving dogs off of it, but there are a lot of options out there...Just a thought. |

| Alternatives? Curious. What are you using instead of raw hides? Smile. Having such a wee one is such a new experience!! |

| Right?! I give Piper CET Chews and even though she's 9 1/2 lbs, I get the medium to avoid possible choking hazard (recommended by the wise, experienced YF folks here). I give Piper medium sized bully sticks so they'll last, as they can be price-y. In order to get Piper interested, I run hot water over part of the chew and/or stick to soften it just a bit. |

| Himalayan Cheese sticks are like crack for my girls!!!! They last for ever!!!! I do get bigger chunks than the recommend on the bag. The cool thing about these also are when they get down to the end, pop them in the microwave till the puff up let them cool for 10 - 15 mins and they are crisp crumbly that they can eat with no worry!

| Leyla will play with a raw hide for a bit, toss into air, push around floor, give to us to throw then ignore unless it goes back into toy basket, then it sits next to her living room bed. Won't touch CET or greenies. She LOVES freeze dried beef tripe. It Reeks, then she reeks. We store in freezer due to smell, cut off a small piece and put her out on patio to eat. Then her teeth are brushed. These stink but are supposed to be healthy in small bits. |
