| Hair texture We had an older yorkie given to us who won our hearts. Last year we lost her and broke my wife's heart. We have gotten a new little ball on energy and it is a challenge we are loving! My question is our new girl's hair feels very silky and our other girls was not. Is this a puppy thing or do yorkie shave different texture hair? She is 6 months old. |

| I'm very sorry for your loss of your little girl. I hope your new little girl brings you great joy, love, and laughter. The breed standard for Yorkies calls for a silky coat, but there are also Yorkies who have modified silk and cotton coats. A silk coat is much easier to care for because it doesn't mat much. I love all Yorkies no matter what. Welcome to YT.
