YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Oh my gosh - what an exciting time! Congrats on your new *soon* to be addition. I love your dogs names! I am a practical kind of gal - and I think it is so absolutely right for you to fly out to pick her up! So being practical - lets talk about flying with a dog! You will need to pre-book your pups return flight with you. Some airlines have a limit on the number of dogs that can travel in cabin on any one given flight. There also will be a fee for her. I think you are in NYC and when I flew to Oregon (gawd 5 yrs ago now) it iwas $150 each way for my Yorkie. Now you will need an airline approved carrier for your gal. Look at what airline you will be flying with, and they should have the details - ie measurements n such on their website. I used a over the shoulder soft pet carrier when I flew with my Razzman. Take a couple of soft liners for your carrier - both for warmth and in case of accidents. Water - for a Yorkie - just a bottle of spring water should be enough for your trip. Food - Deb will probably give you some of the kibble she has been on - ask in advance what that is and pack with you another baggie of that kibble. In case - it is winter time and with weather who knows if your flight gets delayed. Other treats - you can cut up very small pieces of veges, very tiney amounts of cheese. Nutrical or Nutridrops - purchase some and bring it with you. Harness and Leash - bring them with you. And weepads in your luggage. I can't remember where I changed flights but there was a doggey exercise area at the airport. Check it out when you book your connecting flights. When you go through security, they will ask you to remove your pet from her carrier, and you walk through with her. Be prepared for that. I would make sure I have her medical records with me, and of course the contract of sale - Deb will of course give you all of that. I am so excited for you! Post pics as soon as you can!

- Try to get a window seat - with the pup under the seat in front, it's much less distracting for her than the middle or aisle - Don't fall asleep - those little buggers have a way of getting out and roaming around - happened to my sister in-law on a flight, when she was awakened by a flight attendent asking "is this your dog?" | |

| Congratulations on your new puppy! I went through a similar breeder search with the result of Deb being at the top of the short list as well. I'll be picking up a pair of brothers on the 29th. The picture of the litter has been my screen saver for the past month and I can't wait for the fun to begin! |

You can go to a website called Seat Guru and put in your flight info and it tells you good and bad features of every seat on every flight. Like certain seats have equipment storage things under seats, restricting usable area. Here is the link: Find Seat Maps I am so excited for you.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | On second thought nix the doggey exercise area, what was I thinking sheesh, she won't have had all her shots yet. I just also have gone into the washroom and laid down a peepad for my pup to go on.
