| archie-poo argh. Archie hasn't poo'd in a day. the last time he went was yesterday afternoon and it's the following morning and he still didn't go. but...he went to the park, and twice this week, he's rolled around in another dog's poo so now I have to clean it up. I had switched his food the night before last from neura 95% lamb to wellness puppy formula which for some reason he started eating...he used to hate it before but if i mix it with chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul dry food, he eats it. do you think that's where the lack of poo is from? I mean, he went yesterday morning, but little poos...not the big ones that he used to get from neura and eukanuba and innova. why do you think he's rolling around in other dog's poo and not going himself? |

| In all my years of having dogs (many breeds), the more filler in the food, the more the poop. That's why when you feed a really good quality food you have less poop (less cleanup). Cyndie Trevor's Mom |

| It's not "filler" per se, it's "Fiber". the more Fiber in the diet the more pooping. Just like humans. Sometimes Fiber can be a good thing. Keeps the intestinals unblocked and helps with "anal glands". |

| Can't opine about the rolling in poop but have you tried pumpkin? Not the pie filling, but REAL canned pumpkin. Someone once suggested it for both diarrhea and constipation. It works for Lexi.

| Well I had a problem with Cordelia being constipated and the vet said to give her canned pumpkin. I mixed it with her dry food. She would eat a little, but she was still constipated, it got so bad that her rectum or something started poking out of her booty and it caused her glands to swell. Poor thing. So we took her to the vet again, and the vet said to give her pumpkin. I told the vet that she really didn't like that. So, the vet knew we had cats and asked us if we give them Petromalt Hairball rememdy. She said that we could use that on Cordelia and would act as a laxative. Well we tried that and it worked. | thanks guys. i don't think he needs pumpkin right now, but he is going less than he used to go. Neura doesn't have any fillers...it's a pretty high quality food, same company as wellness. wellness has more fibre than Neura. i'm not sure...but he is going anyway, so that's good. |
