Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wylie was 2 when we brought Marcel home, and we just brought Marcel into the house and let them sniff around - and it was really no biggie. Wylie was a bit anxious and a bit more needy for awhile, for about a month or so - and we just supported him through that time and gave him extra attention. When are you getting another one? How exciting for you!

| Wow I'm going thru the same thing...2 weeks into it....time is flying . Trying to adjust...AND take pictures on the fly but they move so much they are either blurred or by the time I snap it all I get is butt! Hectic this time of year but the time was right. I managed to throw a photo Christmas card together of them and getitmsiledvout.... Anyway best suggestion is keep them separated. Introduce slow and in neutral territory. I took Zoey to get izzy so they could sniff each other out on way home. Izzys in pen and Zoeys has the run. I put both on huge blanket on floor off and on during day but slways have my hand right near inbetween to shield the older one ,Zoey , from scary lunging, biting little hairy thing, and Izzy from Zoeys posturing and stiff stance, like she could lunge too .....love and play with both at the same time cause one is used to it and the other is in new environment.keep playtime short give the older one a break , it's used to be the only one and now has an intruder has to get used to. I found helpful putting playpen right beside my bed with her soft blanket and small crate, with pee pads, that way she can pick where she wants to be AND she can sense you near and be calm. Things improve everyday but never turn your back on both together till get older. |

| My past pups were all gotten 3 years apart. I would bring new baby home, say look girls what mamma has, set the baby on the floor, the older ones would come, sniff then run for the hills ( the sofa). I let them make friends at their own pace. My older girls were gentle loving girls, it took time, the older ones adjusted. Watch them carefully so your older ones does not get to rough with the new kid. Good luck and enjoy your new lilbaby.
