| New Yorkie Puppy Owner w/ Ear Problems Hi YT! I am a new Yorkshire Terrier puppy owner. Currently, my pup is a little over 9 weeks old. She is GREAT! She plays a lot and... eats a lot. She does get frustrated a lot... (she'll angrily dig the carpet). More importantly, we took her to her second vet check. The vet said there were dead mite eggs in her ears. We treated her ears with anti-mite medication. It was also possible that her ears had an infection, so we just started treating her with Tri-Otic Ointment 4-6 drops twice daily. But we noticed that her ears were super dirty, again, even after we had them cleaned at the vet. I am wondering how I can go about cleaning her ears! Any help would be appreciated! I also attached a picture of her ear. And a picture of her! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Awww...she is just adorable! And welcome to YT ! Her ears really don't look too bad here, so I think you're doing a good job. If she had mites, they're likely just still irritated and are producing more wax/oils than needed. Give it some time and I'm sure it will resolve. Also, those ointments can attract a lot of dirt, ugh!

| She is amazing! Thanks. It's good to hear that it isn't too bad. Guess I'm super worried about hearing loss... |

| If you're uncomfortable with her ears or they seem to be bothering her (like her tugging at them with her paws) I'd call the vet just to make sure they are okay...it won't cost you anything and you'll have more peace of mind. That's my two cents worth! It's also what I'd do. |
