| What's Your Routine? Hey Fellow Yorkie Moms (or Dads) What is your routine with your yorkie? How much time you spend playing with him or her, taking walks, etc? I work from home and Wolfie gets a lot of attention, but wondering if he gets too much sometimes. Typically, I get up and he gets up with me. I have puppy pads in the bathroom so most of the time he's already gone pee and poo. I feed him and then eat myself, then we usually go for a walk. After that I settle down to work and he plays with his toys or sleeps, and in between I play with him - fetch or wrestling - and a lot of cuddling while I work. He gets another walk in the afternoon - a lot longer work and at night, he hangs with me and my boyfriend, either playing or snuggling. He goes to bed with us in the bed. Through all the that, sometimes I look at him and he looks bored if I am working and not playing. :-) How much play time do you all get with your dogs? |

| lol I feel just like you, I'm retired but do a lot of bookkeeping on the computer, almost like working at home. Cody was raised by a little 8 y/o BTW I adopted Cody 10 months ago, he is 3 y/o. While the mother was at work & the lil girl was in school he was crated, when the mom & lil girl came home he was her toy & visa versa, the dog was gotten for the child. This lil girl carried him in her arms like a baby, because that's what he does to me when he jumps in my lap. He was spoiled rotten when I got him, he DEMANDS a lot of attention, he was surrendered when the lil girl was 11 y/o. I feel so sorry for him loosing the love and attention of that little girl, so I fall behind on house chores and bill paying lol to give him the attention he wants & needs. The only routine I have for him is feeding, leash walks in the summer have been early morning before it gets to hot, but he has the use of back yard for potty. Winter leash walks weather permitting are early afternoon when it gets a bit warmer. He looks so sad sometimes I just feel I am not giving him enough attention. No one can replace the love of a child, I take him in the car with me 75 % of the time when I have to go out. I play in the yard with him and let my inside & outside things to do fall behind. I feel it's the quality of the time I give him, not the quantity of time, but I still feel guilty that I can't give him more quality of time. I know, I was of no help to you. But think of quality not quantity of time spent. Puppies IMO need a lot more attention, and a lot more of our time.Just MO

| haha too funny. I've had Wolfie since he was almost 8 weeks old. He is like my baby and it was his eyes that captured me. He knows how to play me for sure. He just turned 9 months last week. Love him to pieces!! |

| Yup it's the eyes. They will get you every time. I work from home too and I have roughly the same schedule as you accept Dutch isn't much of a toy player. I wish she was then I wouldn't feel so guilty when she looks so bored. |

| I meant to add, I call my lil boy Wolfie, so do my friends, reason::: I once said Cody is a "wolf" in sheep's clothing because, he'll sit there like I'm all that and a bag of chips, looking all cute & sweet, then in a blink of the eye he'll do a 360 and acting like crazy boy lol, so he earned the title of "Wolfie" lol
