| Lupine collars are guaranteed "even if chewed"! I had one for my Wheaten that finally lasted for years. |

| Does she get out of them and then eat them? I'd get her a better fitting collar and harness or keep them somewhere she can't get at them as whatever bits of them she swallows could obstruct her breathing if stuck in her throat or bowel if stuck in her GI tract as you know.

| If she can get to her collar and chew it it's not tight enough. I also would only put a harness on for when she will be hooked to the leash. I would think because she is doing this she should not be left alone with either one on. When she does it when you are watching her I would say no and squirt her with water from a little squirt bottle.

A collar with current ID, rabies tag tells the person who finds the dog that it belongs to someone and the honest, responsible finder usually will make every attempt to locate you as long as the tags make it fairly easy to do. I also think it might cause AC to not euthanize my dog as readily as they otherwise might should they be the ones to find him should I be somehow indisposed. You might also consider microchipping your dog to further increase her chances to being returned to you, especially since you don't have a fenced yard and she's a genius at getting out of her collars! Just put a light, thin collar on her for brief periods of time, being sure you can get two fingers under it - no looser - and start her playing with you or take her for a walk so she's distracted from the sensation of it while she begins to adjust to it and remove it after 5 or 10 minutes at first. Do this several times a day. Gradually increase her time in the collar while you play ball or puzzle games or just tickle and play hands with her to keep her from thinking of it and over time, she will be able to wear it for prolonged periods of time.

| Have you tried bitter apple (Bitter Yuck?) spray? It doesn't work with all dogs. Some are immune and some actually like the taste. Spray it on her harness and collar before putting them on her.

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I use a puppia harness on Spud but I connect the leash to the side of the harness so as not to pull on his neck and cause trachea cough. Yorkies should not have tight collars with leashes around their neck. They are so prone to the trachea cough. |

| Have you considered a Buddy Belt Harness? I would think with the design and the proper fit it would be nearly impossible to chew. The harness's buckle sits between the shoulder blades and it has an "O" ring to attach a leash and tags. The harness is also designed to eliminates strain on your dog's neck and spine, helping to prevent damage to the throat and trachea. Yazmin has never chewed collars or harnesses but she pulled a lot, causing herself to choke and cough while walking. Since wearing a BB, she's not had that problem once! If Prada's still growing you may also want to consider the BB2, they're less expensive but still have the same quality and design as the original Buddy Belt. Buddy Belt Harness |

| I tried all kinds of harnesses for Taz and he chewed up every one until I finally got a Buddy Belt. It works great. He wears a collar all the time for identification and the BB for walks.
