Donating YT 30K Club Member | Nutracal question I bought Nutrical for Cali today because she slept longer than usual this morning and woke up with dry heaves and seemed a little wobbly.I gave her some a couple of hours ago and when i fed her tonight, 15 minutes ago she gobbled her food down and I gave her a little more and she gobbled that down. Cali is a picky eater and usually plays with her food before eating it slowly. My question is does nutrical stimulate their appetites? I thought it just supplemented nutrients to picky eaters. Thanks

| I do not think it stimulates appetite. Maybe she hasn't been eating much since she has been sick. Good that you noticed in time to give her a little pick-me-up. They seem to get sick so quickly. Glad she seems to be all better. I'll bet by tomorrow her appetite will be back to normal. Keep an eye on her for now, make sure she is drinking plenty of water, too.

| Yes, I have read somewhere that Nutrical does stimulate the appetite, and I have found this to be true, particularly with puppies. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks Yes she seems fine this morning. Took her about an hour to eat which is normal and she has been very active. Now it's bath time!

| Yes, I agree, Nutrical does stimulate an appetite. It's a life saver! If any of my dogs aren't eating or drinking I always start the Nutrical then give them water through a syringe. It just happened with my Stormy. She was shivering and wouldn't stop all day yesterday. She also wasn't eating or drinking. I had 2 sweaters on her and a heating pad. Then she would get too hot so I'd take the heat pad off. Then she would start the shivering again. Her temperature was normal. I continued to watch her and give her Nutrical & water. This morning she is fine. If it had continued today I would have taken her to the vet. I always have Nutrical on hand! |

| nutrical Of course Nutrical is used as nutrition and to enhance their apetite. I just gave my new mom Nutrical for more than a month because she lost her apetite on her third week of pregnancy and it really had helped. She is eating very well now and it is also a good supplement and does not harm her in any way it gives them more energy. |

| On PetSmart, this is the description given for Nutrical... "High calorie, vitamin-enhanced dietary dog supplement provides extra energy and stimulates appetite during periods of stress. Keeps your dog healthy." I know others pretty much answered your question, but I was just verifying.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks for all the replies! I couldn't beleive how much she ate and how energized she was. I have always used syrup for her before when she looked a little stressed or shaky. I am going to give her some nutrical to see if i can get a little more weight on her.
