| Petharbor.com~Great tool for adopting and to use if your pet is missing Has anyone ever used this website to look for animals to adopt?? It's similar to Petfinder. I'd never heard about it until recently. On top of looking for dogs to adopt, it's also looks like a great tool for lost/found dogs. They will send post cards out to the area where your pet was lost, you can search their database for pets found in your area and you can register your email and they will send you daily updates of all of the pets found in your area that fit your pets description. You can also search their data base for the dogs that were lost/found in your area!! |

| Yes, I used to get email updates from them when I was looking for a small dog to adopt. The thing is that they have rescues that come in and get any small dogs that are notably of a specific breed. So by the time the dog is posted online usually they have been picked up. I guess you kind of have to be there at the time the dog comes in to get it. It is really sad to see some of the horrible conditions those dogs are in when they first arrive. Hard to believe anyone would let an animal get to such an awful state. We have mostly large dogs that come into our shelters here. It is kind of a rural area and most people have medium to large dogs. We foster any small dogs because it is just too scary for little ones to stay at the shelter. |

| I took a look at that website and it really seems like a great idea. I couldn't believe the number of places that it lists within 200 miles of me, and most I had never heard of!
