| I would first have your vet check his teeth because he may need a dental.

| Yes, you can and should brush his teeth every day. Now, with that said, as Taylor mentioned, have your vet check his mouth because if it stinks really bad, it could have an infection and/or need a dental. These Yorkies are prone to bad teeth issues, sadly. To brush his teeth, you can use C.E.T. toothpaste (one of several choices). I use this and follow up with a brushing with Coconut Oil due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Smells yummy, too

| Bad breath with constant brushing can be a sign of renal failure, I'd ask your vet to do a full blood work up just to make sure. Cheers Quad & Gina

But she's asking - CAN I brush his teeth..... To MrsMillar....YES, you can - either a soft toothbrush or one of the little rubbery ones you can buy at Pets at Home - quite a good selection of toothpastes, water additives etc there, too. Also, make sure that it's not his beard that is stinky rather than his breath - I wash Harry's face down every day with a warm, damp, beautifully smelling facecloth....makes him very, very kissable.... YT 1000 Club Member | Rasta used to have the same prob lol brushing teeth greatly reduces the funk lol. If you can't do it everyday try for every other day or at least once a week(bath time). |

| I just saw this product called Orapup, it's like a tongue scraper that dogs lick when you spray it with a solution that they like. The bad breath is not from their teeth, it's from bacteria on their tongues. |

| I just had this problem with Niko. He'd had a dental just 2 months prior andI was using the spray recommended by the vet. I should have been brushing then I would have noticed the spring from a ball point pen between his molars and stuck in his gums. Take him to the vet for a check and start brushing his teeth. |
