| Yorkie --constant licker Hi-any advice on a 5 month old that has started licking us-constantly!!! I love her to death but she can't lick everyone she comes in contact with. Not sure if it is a bonding thing, teething or what....any thoughts? |

| Mine is over 1 year old and is a licker. She licks my feet when she walks by me. Lol. Licking must be a yorkie thing.

| Gizmo is a lickamonster too :-) not sure about ways of changing it, they just really love to love everybody and everything. Gizmo is the same age, and his kisses have not slowed down at all :-) I actually don't mind it, and everyone he's met falls in love because he's so adorable. He actually brought tears to an elderly mans eyes the other day when I let him hold gizmo while he was in his wheelchair just laughing away, at the love my little pup was giving him. Ok so I was no help :-) |

| I think obsessive licking must be yorkie trait. My older dog will lick my hands until I literally can't stand it anymore. My moms dogs do the same and they will lick each other as well, which just drives my mom nuts!!! I watched a Dog Whisperer episode on puppy mills and one of the volunteers had rescued an absolutely adorable yorkie who was an obsessive licker. She had to constantly lick everyone she came in contact with and I guess it was really annoying and was holding up her adoption process. Her foster mom would try to get her to stop but the poor pup just couldn't help herself. I forget what he did to get her to stop licking, but I think he just snapped his fingers and told her no...as if it works that easy, right?? |

| My girl Cookie kisses us like crazy. I think as long as you show your pup that you enjoy it, they're not going to stop kissing you. Mine will come kiss me right after she eats or right after I do. I guess she wants to share the flavor of her dinner with me like she wants to taste the flavor of mine lol.

| Jess is a licker too. My kids love it, I, do not. So I just started to bend my head back when she goes in for a lick. If she goes for my hands I'd move them out of reach (I once got hives from her licking, and I just don't like it) Over time she realized I don't like it so she doesn't do it unless I move my face close to hers and hold it there. Then she will give me on little lick on the nose.. |

| One of mine licks the cat. The cat is none too happy. She's quite stealthy about it, starts licking the air about a yard away from the cat, then edges closer & closer, licking all the time till she manages to land one. |

| From time to time Bailey licks and licks and licks my hand. Really not sure why he does, as I wash my hands quite often so I figure not much on them. I thought at first it may be the salt on my hands, but with all the hand washing, not sure how much is there when he does. He really liked my xbf's hands, and Bailey would lick and continue to lick, for ever it seemed. Any one have any other ideas why they tend to do this?? |

| Gizmo licks one of our cats too, Lucy. He has a different approach though haha, he just runs up to her as fast as he can, licks her and runs, before she can bop him on the head :-) |
