| Does your Yorkie get bored of the same food everyday? I am feeding Bentley Orijen. I just bought my second bag and I was wondering if I should mix his food with something else? I was thinking about getting Acana and maybe giving Acana for dinner every other day, is this a bad idea? He doesn't seem to be bored with the Orijen yet but I am afraid he will, I mean, don't your Yorkies get tired of the same food everyday for years and years? I occasionally cook for him like boiled chicken, eggs, green beans, but I don't do it everyday. What's your experience feeding the same food or mixing it? I thought Orijen and Acana were a good idea since they are made by the same company. Thanks for any advice, I feel bad giving him the same thing everyday.

| You could mix Orijen Regional Red with Orijen 6 Fish, or the regular grain-free dog food Orijen has. I've done that before and they didn't have any negative reactions - they're poo was fine and they enjoyed it. However, the 6-Fish made them fart a lot of stinkies (don't know why) so I stopped that one. I mix in 1 teaspoon of pumpkin in Bella and Sprout's food bowl and 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin in Gypsy's - every day. It's good for intestinal health and a natural regulator and they like it. I also like cooking green beans and adding that, but when I do that they dig out all the green beans and throw the actual dog kibble all over the floor in various small piles, so I just do the green bean thing separately as a treat...so they eat their food too. With regard to Acana versus Orijen, they are made by the same company (as you stated in your post) but there are really a lot of differences between the two: Orijen and Acana Differences | Naked Dingo Blog I'm sure whatever you decide to feed Bentley he'll be happy with it! (We just switched Gypsy from Orijen Puppy to Fromm's Puppy Gold and it's been two days...no problems) Last edited by YorkOfTheShire; 07-21-2013 at 09:04 AM. |

| If you stay with the same brand, but just change varieties, you should be okay. I do this with Lexie. she get the same kibble & organic plain grilled chicken, but I mix that with Weruva canned foods. She seems more interested when there is variey.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Animals don't get bored with food like humans do, they don't even remember that they had the food yesterday. If they are acting as if they don't care for the food, you may be feeding them too much, or giving them too many yummy snacks that makes them more finicky and can teach them to hold off for tastier treats.

| Everyone gets the same thing all the time. If I switch them up, or give them too many treats, they start to get picky.
