| Puppies biting each other Hi I have three 8 week old babies. Quite often while playing they will bite at each others ears. The yelps are so loud it scares me. Is this just normal puppy behaviour at this age. I worry that they will really hurt each other. Also, I have been debating on whether or not to let them go at 8 weeks and after reading several posts on this I have decided to keep them longer. Wondering if the biting ,playing is part of that socialization that they need to learn. Thanks for all the great posts, they have been extremely helpful to me! |

| They are just doing normal puppy stuff. It is best to keep them untill 12 weeks so they can learn important socialization. It is best for the puppy and the new owner

| That behavior is normal but you have to really watch them. If one puppy is bigger than the other it can cause problems. I am going through the same thing right now. My pups are 9 weeks old and I have one that is a bully so every now and then I have to give him a time out when he starts getting to rough.

| Its also good for health reasons. A common rhing to happen to happen to new owners is they bring puppy home and all of a sudden puppy wont eat and new owner is unprepared for that. Then they get hypoglycemia and new owner is unprepared for that. Keeping them untill 12 weeks just gets a little more weight on them and gets them over the hump

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Its a normal puppy litter behavior and like advised above it can sometimes get out of hand and you may want to correct it before they can get to rough with one another. Some pups can have very dominant behavior toward the others and can actually hurt the little ones. Just be cautious and aware so that is doesn't get too crazy! One thing I never do is get the pups out for play time unsupervised. That is usually when they test their boundaries and things tend to get out of hand.

| I can't think of anything cuter than a bunch of puppies play fighting with each other. I used to watch my 2 do it even at the age they are now and I just love it. Enjoy cause you will miss it. And of course keep an eye in case one gets too tough with the others. Tina

| Normal behavior. Does the mama correct them or is she leaving it up to you ?
