| Maci Scared Me To Death! Maci is a tiny little thing at just under 5lbs full grown. Well, earlier today, I had a reminder that she can squeeze through a hole the size of a squirrel's head. I took my eyes off her for a full 10 seconds to pay attention to the other dog and that was all it took! She managed to escape that quickly out of my backyard! I always do a quick visual scan, but apparently a board had loosened (I have a 6ft privacy fence) just enough for her to squeeze her little self out. Thank God we found her sniffing around in the front yard, but this was terrifying! Maci is a little Houdini. If there is any way at all to make an escape, she'll find it. Mojo will stay glued to my side, but Maci's our "explorer". And then she always comes back, curls up on my chest, and looks at me so innocently as if to say "What, Mama?". She is the sweetest thing ever, but I swear she gives me grey hairs! Please take this as a cautionary tale and a gentle reminder to not only visually inspect your fence, but to also maybe run your hands over the boards and inspect them every so often. I am so grateful that Maci is safe and sound, but it could have been tragic if she had slipped out into the road or if there had been a big dog loose. My heart is still racing just thinking about it.

| Oh wow! I know how you feel. Bella escaped once and my neighbor found her in their front yard while I was looking for her.

| So glad she was just in your front yard. Husband put up plaster chicken wire around part of the fence and before he could do the rest the squirrels had chewed through it. Now we are getting something else to put around the chain link fence. |
