| My puupy loves me TOO much I’m worried about me new puppy. He’s not very independent! He wants to be with me all the time! He wont sleep in his crate, he’ll bark till 4:00am and then someone finaly lets him out. He sleeps next to my bed but it’s a challenge to keep him off my bed. I have school 2 times a week so I wont be home everyday and I’m worried about how he’ll cop. Is this just normal puppy behavior (he’s 41/2 months)? Will he because more independent with time? |

| Some dogs are more dependent than others so he might or might not change. My female that is more needy has gotten more independent as she has gotten older. I am a housewife though and am home with them all day.

| My furbaby My baby Mason has always slept with me and I guess I encouraged it from the beginning because he would cry at night in his crate and I would feel so sad for him. I would let him out of his crate and he would sleep all night on the end of my bed as long as he had a blanket that smelled like me to curl up in. I guess I am just a softy...Mason is a great dog and when I am home he wants to be near me no matter where I am...If I am in the bathroom he is right there at my feet waiting for me. When I go to work I put him up in my bedroom with the bathroom door open and he has food and water in the bathroom and potty pads. He loves it because he has the TV on for noise and my bed which smells like me all day. He loves my bed!!

| he will be ok alone, lexi loves me to death. if im laying on the couch , she is up above my head with her paws leaning on the couch or on me and she just stares at me as to say i love you mom so much and thanks for taking care of me... she sleeps with me right at my side, but she has to touch me and she makes sure she gets as close as possible to me... i think they are all like that, thats why i love this breed..

| Casper is a total mama's boy! when i got him he was seven months old and came from a home where he was with a stay at home mom. unfortunatley i work 40+ hours a week and go to school at night so he did have to learn to cope. when i am home he is always by my side! We used to not let him sleep on the bed, but now he does and i like it because i hae some one to cuddle with since my honey works at night and my bed is so high he knows if he gets down there will be no getting up so he is learning to hold his liquid. I think it's so cute when i get ready in the moring he sits right outside the bathroom door and watches me. or when i wake in the morning i move to the counch and lay down to watch the morning news and he gets up and comes and lays with me too. It does take a while for them to learn, but i think your pup will be ok. My baby is sad when i leave but when i come home he is so happy to see me! |

| When I first got my puppy, I carried him around and held him most of the time. When I sat down, he slept in lap, and when I went to bed, he went to bed with me. He was only 8 weeks old and easily slept 6 or 7 hours --but probably only because he was with me. I know for a fact if I hadn't held him a lot or expected him to sleep in a crate, he would have kept me up all night. Now that he's 16 weeks old ---I can't catch him. He is extremely independent and has full run of the house (with a puppy pad on when I'm home.) When I gone he's confined to the kitchen with everything he needs. He still sleeps with me and is very cuddly and won't sleep any place else, but once we get up, he is off and running and doing his own thing. He is extremely active and playful and "independent." And, oh - does he love company!!! Play - play - play!!! I think that if a young pup can be with you a lot - they feel more secure venturing out on their own later. I think that my puppy gets along well when I'm not home. I am gone 6 hours, four days a week. Often when I return home, he wakes up from sleeping in his bed. I can tell that he has played with all his toys - etc. I leave a light on for him and leave the radio on for him. I have two neighbors who drop in several times a week to visit with him, and they say he is always sleeping or playing and is happy happy to see them. I have felt my entire life (with every dog I have every had) that letting them sleep with me makes them feel very happy and safe and secure. He is no problem in bed at all. He sleeps like a little baby off to one side, doesn't pee, but wears a puppy pad. And - after all is said and done, we have to remember that all dogs are different. They have different temperments and require varying amounts of attention. Some dogs are shy and others are very outgoing. Mine was very needy as a pup and is extremely outgoing (and hard to catch) now. He has a mind of his own - and knows no fear! Good luck! Carol Jean |

| Yorkies aren't called the velcro for nothing. They stick to you all the times. As mine age they get a little better, but like most, they even go to the bathroom with me. |

| animals are adaptable, im sure he will be fine when you are at school.... i work and go to school at night as well.... and i have done so since we got toby, he did allright once he adjusted.... it took a while though... He was like velcro at first,..... then he got independant.... and now he is comfortable enough to let me wander around the house and be in a different room without having to be right with me (although he sitll has to help me when i go to the bathroom.... as if i cant do it by myself ) |

| Zeus is a momma's boy too, but he does ok home by himself all day. He is very excited to see us when we get home, but doesn't seem to be suffering any kind of anxiety. Of course, we have both worked all day since bringing him home, so he is used to it, but as soon as we get home he is stuck to us like glue and sleeps in our bed all night! I love my little cuddle bug!!
