YT Addict | We lost one At around 8am last night one of the male pups wasn't eating very well . He wasn't as good of an eater as his siblings. I am searching myself to see if maybe I could of done more for him but I know I did all I could I was up all night trying to get him to eat I also gave him nutrastat cause he wasn't eating . He passed about 5 am. These babies weren't even due til February 6 and they ended up coming on the 2nd. The others are good pooing and peeing well and attack the bottle at every feeding their bed is warm not hot no drafts of any kind around. I just hope I haven't let suri down. The other three are gaining some.

| Oh, I'm so sorry to read this. You have been a fantastic mom to those babies and although I have no experience with newborns, from what I'm reading, you are doing everything right. Suri just wanted one with her. He and his mama are together now.

| Tube feeding really gives you more cntrol over the situation. Puppies frequently will begin to fade and they wont suck on a bottle....tube feeding them takes that issue off the table. They continue to get the calories they require to gain, and the nutrition they need not only to just survive, but to thrive. |

| So sorry about the loss of the pup. I am sure that taking care of these little orphans is a daunting task, you are probably emotionally drained and tired. The suggestion about tube feeding may seem like something you aren't prepared to do but as YorkieMom1 mentioned...it will make sure they get the nutrition they need and takes that worry out of the equation. If they are not gaining weight, perhaps you could ask your vet for help to learn the technique of tube feeding. That way if one of the pups starts to refuse to bottle feed you have an option. Here is a video from youtube that shows some very small pups being tube fed. They are not Yorkies but are in a similar weight range to your babies. Debbie (Tea', Katie and Paige) |
