| Grooming rates? I found this ADORABLE dog shop in my town. Just opened up not too long ago and they have the cutest stuff for small and medium sized dogs..Ive become a regular and asked the owner about where she takes her dogs (2 toy poodles) to be groomed. She gave me the name of the lady and I walked over (a few doors down, same complex). I asked how much it would be to give Joey a facial trim. I want his body hair to grow out and until it starts getting "shaggy" I like to leave it alone. She told me she doesnt do only faces and that it would have to include a bath, blow out, nail trimming, glands and then the facial trim although if there were any "spots" she would trim that too...for $18. Now, I know it seems like a lot shes going to do for a little price, but thats not what I wanted. I give him a bath, blow dry and trim his nails all on my own. I brush him daily and keep his hair the way I want. I just dont trust myself with scissors near his face...he doesnt like it either. So I feel like I was being quoted way higher than I should have. What do you guys think? I know, I know...I need to suck it up and just trim his face myself...but Im scared.

| Sounds pretty fair to me -- geeezz, I pay between $65-$85 for Jackson to get a full groom.

| Whoa mama! $85 ! I believe at our local Woof Gang Bakery, they charge $35 for wash/dry/face/paws/nail trim/sanitary area and $45 for all of that plus doing the body hair. I love our groomer and have always felt comfortable leaving Toki in her care! My sister gets her yorkie groomed at Petsmart and they really bend you over there. I want to say that she spends around $55 (before tip) or even more for a full-service groom. I don't mind paying for great service but I feel they charge too much for essentially a puppy cut and nail trim, especially considering the level of experience a lot of the groomers there have (I'm sure there are good groomers there but I'm just speaking from my experiences). But $18 seems like a pretty good deal for all of the stuff you're getting (if your groomer does a fantastic job, it's a steal!) |

| Zeus is $45. If I wanted just his face done, I wouldn't have a problem with the $18 and have everything else included. But that's MO.

| I guess I'm just annoyed that she's adding all the extra stuff. I only want his face done.

| Everyone has different business practices. Just call around, I'm sure someone would be willing to only do his face.

| I'd keep looking. The price is right, but there are groomers out there who will do exactly what you want. Not everyone wants glands expressed or nails trimmed anyway. I guess I'd consent to bath/blow dry. I pay $0. my pups don't need to look perfect. Just won't shell out money for no reason.

| My groomer (retired vet tech) does everything needed $40 flat for returning customers. She doesn't always do everything, but you can request and she tells you why pr why not something may or maynot be needed. I forget the exact break down but if you opt for single things you end up paying $60-$65 for everything.

| I will tell you that the price sounds very reasonable to me also, but if you are willing to pay close to the same to just have face done, Petco will do a quick face trim up. But, I think it is $10-$15 |
