| Frito Feet or Popcorn Paws? Pixie has frito feet, but Sabre has popcorn paws. It really took me this long to figure it out. I mean I've always known Pixels feet were corn chip scented, but I just could not figure out what Sabre's were until now. It hit me! POPCORN PAWS!!! A little google fu and I found out that most dogs have feet that smell like one or the other. Science isn't sure why, some say it's bacterial, some say it's yeast. Now I can't ever see me sniffing a pit bulls feet, (unless they're babies cause babies are too cute), and I think it's weird that I'm sniffing yorkie feet. I'm not even sure how that happened. I blame their super magical powers. But that got me thinking. I can't be the only one that still sniffs their dogs' feet, even while thinking that I must be strange for doing so. |

| Yeasty paws are very itchy for them...I trim Momo's paw hairs almost like a poodle bc he will lick lick lick. I know how itchy it is for him & his paws used to smell like fritos. I've eliminated store bought treats which has molasses, brown sugar, anything sugary, as that is food for the yeast. Here's a great read/vid: Eating These Foods Can Cause Dog Yeast Infection

| Callie's smell the most like fritos when she is sleeping and massively if she has been sleeping all cuddled up in a warm blanket it cracks me up because you can sometimes smell it just by getting close to her.

| I do trim the underside of the feet, as I feel that too much fur is bad for traction and Sabre especially gets the zoomies. My house has tile flooring and my mothers smooth hardwood, so I don't want his legs going out from under him and him getting hurt because he suddenly got the zoomies. But other than walking weird for an hour or two after having his paw pad fur trimmed (because him has tender feets), I can't say I have seen anything odd going on with his feet. He doesn't lick or chew at them, so it's not bothering him, be it bacteria or yeast. I am sure if it is yeast, just as with anything else, reactions are due to the severity and individual sensitivity to it. Poor puppy, the feet smell is strongest when they're sleeping or just waking up, and I have been taking sleeping puppy and going SMELL HIS FEET!!! HE HAS POPCORN PAWS!!!!! My family is kind of used to it, since I did the same thing when I discovered that Pixie was a frito feets, lol. I do wonder how many of us have frito feets compared to how many of us have popcorn paws, lolol |

| Tibbe's smell stronger when he hasn't had a bath within 10 days and he's just awakened from overnight or a nap. I try to wash them with soap & water in between baths. He seems completely oblivious that they smell & lies down and sticks them right in my face! LOL! So I get a good whiff of Frito at times!

| I had to go find this thread because when it was originally posted, I never noticed any smell to Mandie's feet and I felt left out LOL Last night..after getting her settled between tummy issues, I walked by and she was all curled up in her be and she was so peaceful. I walked over to give her a kiss and all I could smell were FRITOS! haha Mandie has Frito Feet (I feel like I'm in the club now )
