| Why do they want to fire this guy? Who would want an employee that would watch a suffering dog die? |

| We've been sharing and signing it on FB as well. I thought you might enjoy reading this: A family from Bermondsey have been reunited with their missing Yorkshire terrier after he was found on the train line by Queen’s Road Peckham station and brought into Battersea Dogs & Cats Home by a railway worker. Tiny Teddy went missing from his Bermondsey home on 30 June after a back door was left open. Eight days later the little dog, who weighed just 1kg was brought to the world-famous animal charity by a Network Rail worker. He had found him on the train line, weak, malnourished, and suffering with one of the worst cases of fly strike that the charity’s vets had ever seen. One year old Teddy was immediately rushed into Battersea’s on-site clinic for emergency treatment as he was covered with fleas and maggots which were infested in his filthy, matted fur. Much of his coat had to be cut off which revealed clumps of fly eggs and maggots which were deeply embedded in his fragile body and needed to be gently cut out by Battersea’s clinic team. Phil Robinson, one of Battersea’s vets who treated Teddy said: “Teddy’s very lucky to have survived his experience on the train tracks. Apart from the obvious dangers of trains, and live tracks, he wouldn’t have lasted much longer with the level of maggot infestation he had. We’re so pleased he was found in time and brought to us here at Battersea.” Teddy’s owner Kerry Nichols had been searching for her pet ever since he first went missing but because he was not microchipped; her hopes of being reunited with him were fading. Last year Battersea took in nearly 3,000 stray dogs, but were only able to reunite a third with their owners. Only 28% of dogs coming into the charity’s care had a microchip carrying their owner’s details. Following his ordeal Teddy is now back at home enjoying the company of his best canine friend Stella the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and getting lots of TLC from his family. Kerry says: “Teddy’s been through so much so I can’t wait to get him home and spoil him rotten. I just can’t thank Edwin and Battersea enough. Even though Teddy’s so tiny he’s such a big part of the family, and to have him back home will make the family complete again.” Tiny Yorkie Pulled Off Train Tracks - London Dog Forum News - The London Dog Forum Ltd

| Glad there was a happy ending for the dog and I signed the petition too. All I can hope is that the petition does some good. Seems like the Southern Railroad would not want bad publicity, especially if they have stock and shareholders.
