| Need some reassurance with a first time flight My baby Zoe is almost 7 months old and weighs 4.8lbs. I am going on a 2 week vacation, leaving this Saturday and flying with my baby for the first time. Now that it is getting closer I am very nervous and wondering if I should just cancel. I just read about HGE and that it could be caused by stress. Am I putting my baby in a potentially harmful situation? It would kill me if anything happened to her, she is my life. I have scheduled my flight with a layover and the first flight being only 50 minutes. I am thinking if she does really bad I could always cancel the second leg and drive the rest of the way. I guess I am just looking for some reassurance that it will be okay for my baby to fly. I have done lots of research and am as prepared as I can be, but....... |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I have flown with dogs of multiple ages from 3 months to over 1 year of age...including one flight from the west coast to the east coast without any issue whatsoever. They sleep the entire time. Other passengers are often surprised to learn I have a dog(s) with me. If you don't routinely use a carrier I would advise getting her used to one. Happy travels.

| I have flown with Lola many times ( from costa rica to the nyc and from costa rica to boston )and never had a problem with her. When then plane is taking off i stick my hand in her carrier so she doesn't get scared ( the first time she cried and tried to open her carrier) i guess is because she didn't like the noise of the engine and got scared. must of my flights are at night so i take lola out of her carrier and put her on my lap and cover her with a blanket;she sleeps during the whole flight and no one knows she is not in her carrier |

| Thanks everyone...as I said, I guess I am just looking for reassurance. She is totally used to her carrier, I use it all the time, in fact when I tell her to get in she gets in by herself. I just couldn't take it if something happened to her. |
