| Miss Mia Morning! So we brought Mia home 4 weeks ago! She fits right in and is for sure the princess in our castle. haha She is such an amazing puppy and so much fun. Mia has been pretty easy to train so far. She is kennel trained and sleeps in her kennel beside our bed at night. When we got her they told us she was paper trained but once we got her home that was no the case. I gave up on paper training and bought a playyard for outside and have been working on outside training. Mia has learned to come, sit, lay down. We have been working on the stay part and is doing good with it but hard for her. We had her 2nd set of shots done a week ago and had her weighed and all that fun stuff! When I got her March 30 she weighed 1.1lbs. On April 25th she weighed 2.2lbs! The vet says this is good. SO we get her shots done and we talk about some side effects and when to call the vet. Well we get her home and about 2 hours later I noticed her face was swollen and when i say swollen I mean she looked like a pug. (her face was so round and flat looking) We rushed her back to the vet and they ended up giving her a shot to couteract the first shot. Also after a few hours I brought her home and had to give her a few doses of benadryl. THAT was so scary. So now they will keep her for a few hours with the next set of shots and also give her a antihystamine before the shot. Has anyone else had this happen?? any advice? |

| I just wanted to say welcome to Yorkie Talk! Mia looks like a sweetheart! Congrats on your new baby girl. That must have been so frightening when Mia had such an allergic reaction to her shot. I've not had this happen to any of my girls over the years. I have heard it could happen though. I'll be interested to see if any others on here have had this experience. |

| How scary, so glad that all worked out well and your vet can handle the situation.

| Had same problem with a Shihtzu. Found out it was Lepto in the shot that caused the reaction. |
