| Introducing Hello, just found this site and love it. I have 3 yorkies in my home. My oldest being 5 in february and (2) 7 week old pups. The momma is Hope and one baby is mine and the other belongs to my daughter. Their names are Bambina Bella or Bambi for short and Kayla. Rather interesting about my pups is that they are already fairly consistent with paper training due to a "system" I used in raising them. I am so impressed! I am mostly a stay at home mom who loves my animals, have 2 great kids of 2 and 5. (yes Kayla belongs to my 5 year old, but it's all perfectly safe... She is ALWAYS supervised and 99% of care is done by me. Also my daughter isn't your normal over active kid. ) And 2 horses which I barrel race among other things. I look forward to reading more about yorkies and getting to know everyone. *~*Trina*~* |

| Thank you all again. As for the house breaking... since the pups grew up with me, I was able to "train" them as soon as they started venturing out from their whelping box. After much research I discovered the "mitzi" system at least that's what I think it's called. A breeder of maltese and mastiffs discovered that as soon as the pups climb out of bed they have to potty, so she made the specified potty spot right next to the bed. The pups had to walk through there to get to the play/food area. And as the pups got older, about 6-7 weeks, the potty spot became opposite side of the pen. The bed and play area must stay immaculately clean. So once or twice a day I would wipe it down with lysol wipes and wipe the puppies with a doggy bathing wipe. The blanket in the bed was also changed when all this was done. So the only thing to stay smelling like potty was the paper. And when they did potty in there, a new piece of paper was placed on top of the old to keep the smell, but not allow them to walk through it. I can attest that it does work! Ok, I think I finally have my computer working right, so I'm gonna go post some pics
