Our Dexter got sick for Christmas After Church, we had dinner. Opened presents and gave Dexter his new toy and winter coat. A few minutes later he began throwing up, maybe 4 or 5 times. We then noticed some thin black things in the mess. Turns out he was chewing and ingesting little pieces of a thick rubber mat under his crate. We had plastic with mat over it so nothing could get through and ruin the floor. Called the vet (had his cell number) he said as long as it comes out. He threw up about 6 more times. He was very tired from all this, first time in 6 months being sick. My daughter is sleeping next to the pen tonight to keep a watch on him. What could we possibly put under the playpen that would be safe and the prevent the accidents from leaking through? TIA

I hope Dexter is feeling better. Maybe you can use washable wee wee pads or disposable ones.

Dexter was OK this morning and all day. We had to leave him after his dinner for 5 hours, no accidents. He was really wound up and it took 3 hours to get him to settle down. I will stay home and be on Dexter patrol tomorrow.

Poor little boy! Especially over Christmas. Glad to see he's on the mend today - we too use a thick piece of 'old' carpeting, just in case! Hope today's better for you all, Sally + Harry x

| Glad Dexter is feeling better. Harley got a new toy a few days before christmas and he ate some of the fur. I thought he was throwing up blood, but after two pink throw ups realized it was more likely digested hair from the toy It's a relief when they're all better isn't it. Especially over the holidays.
