| What gets rid of the urine smell?!?! HELP! Hi All. My 6 year old yorkie has been marking to show territory and dominance since we got our lab puppy. It is driving me INSANE and I can't get the smell out of our NEW carpets. He has peed in our bedroom about 4 times and I've spot cleaned with Resolve and just now cleaned the whole bedroom carpet with a carpet cleaner but I STILL SMELL URINE in the carpet. UGH!! Suggestions? I've used Nature's Miracle in the past but I can't remember it worked.

| I've seen others post that Nature's Miracle works. I personally have not tried it. If you get any of the cleaners with a protein enzyme that will break down the proteins in the urine, I believe that is what gets the smell out. I have been using "Out! Oxy-fast Stain & Odor Remover." Our Wal-Mart sells it. It works great for the odor. Good luck!

| My last Yorkie used to mark ALL THE TIME! I hated it! It drove me crazy too! I used Natures Miracle and it worked pretty well. But I also invested in some handmade belly bands. That way if he marked, it would stay in the panty liner that was in the belly band. It is so so much better than having pee all over the house. You should check them out!

| Arm & Hammer Spray. Princess now tinkles ever so often on her bed after her spay-it sucks. Arm & Hammer Multi-Brand - ARM & HAMMERŪ Carpet and Fabric Odor Eliminator ? Pet Fresh On carpet I had to steam clean once when she marked ( she was in heat & my parents came over smelling like their dog) steam cleaning actually releases & gets all bacteria out. I'd follow up with the Arm & Hammer.

| I have found that Odoban works wonders for smells. My DH left his truck windows down and a cat got in and marked. Odoban got rid of that odor. If it can remove cat urine it can remove anything! You can get it at Sam's and maybe even Walmart.

| I do too. It is a good cleaner that is able to get rid of so many germs. And can be used in many different ways. Didn't know Home Depot carried it. Thanks for sharing that information!

Senior Yorkie Talker | I had a similar problem. Lexi peed on my sofa when she was a puppy. Try mixing two parts water and one part white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray over the affected area of your carpet. Let it sit and dry over night. Vinegar is very good for eliminating the smell of pet urine and it also great as a deterrent. Then after vinegar has dried over night, spray Febreze Extra Strength over entire carpet. This should take care of your issue and is also safe for your pets. Good luck, let me know how it works.

| Natures Miracle works ok, the best thing I've found for the smell is distilled white vinager mixed with water, let it soak for awhile, then shampoo or spot wash. Vinegar Tips - Cleaning with Vinegar

| Once we knew Harry was pee-free (!!) we got in Servicemaster ( a professional carpet cleaning company 'over here') who did a deep anti-bacterial etc clean. Apart from that, Chanel No. 5 works quite well!!! Sally + Harry x |
