| The White Star I know some yorkies are born with a white patch, aka white star, on the their chest. I means they are going to grow a long coat right? there's always going to be quantity, just not always quality? Well I just want to see if this is true. If your yorkie was born with a white star could you post pics? As and adult or as a puppy, or both. and your opinion on the white stars, if you have one!!

| I have found that the white patch on their chest turns blond or gold as they get older

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Scarlett had the star. She is now a very light blonde with a thick coat. It's so thick that we have to keep her in a very short cut to minimize tangles. That's her in my avatar.

| She is adorable... so the white star and quantity do have some correlation!

| Keno is now 1 yr old and still has the white star on his chest. He has a thick silky coat that does not mat at all. I am sure it will turn light blonde to match the rest of his chest. |

| ZoE did NOT have a white star on her chest and her coat is somewhat silky and doesn't tangle easily, but it is VERY slow growing. She's ten months old and looks like she has a shaggy puppy cut...but she's never been cut. And of course, I absolutely love yorkies in full coat

| My Gidget has the star. It is slowly disappearing. Her coat is very thick and grows quickly. She is considered "soft coated". She has also held onto her puppy coloring longer. It is gradually turning, but it is taking her a while.

I know you didn't have maci when she was 3 months... but do you know if her hair was thin or sparse when she was younger?

(i've been researching for months now, and still I don't think I know half the info about this breed).

| I'll see if I can find a picture, I have pictures from the breeder, they kept her until her was about 5months then sold her due to her cotton coat since they show all their dogs.... brb! I think this is around 3-5 months old. You can see some of the white still lingering, but I think her coat looks fairly thick!
