| Tick Bites My Yorkie (Bella) was bitten by a tick a few days ago. Today I noticed a place where she had been bitten. It's like a little calus type thing...it had a scab on it. I have no clue what it is. Has anyone ever heard of or seen this? I am going to take her to the vet, but it doesn't open back up until Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. Any suggestions? |

| Is this the same place the tick bite was? Sometimes the head stays inside the bite wound when a tick is removed. I would have your vet look at it to make sure the head was removed.

| Callie has gotten a lot of tick bites and sometimes she has gotten a little red bump from them with a little scab on it and it takes about a week for it it go away if she doesnt scratch at it. If it is hot and looks infected then it should be checked out by a vet.

| We have had problems with ticks this year. They will leave a bump when removed. Also if they were attached and you pull them off it could scab over. You might ask your vet about it. Mikki had numerous this year and we had her tested for Lyme disease (I think that was what the vet said) because ticks carry that. So, you might call just to be on the safe side.

| Teddy had 3 tick bites this spring. I removed the ticks and he had a little red bump for almost 2 weeks. Our vet said just to keep them clean and that they would go away.

| Yes, the bump is in the same place the tick bite was. I'm sure I got the head out...I looked at the tick when I pulled it out and the head was on it! The bump is not red...it's the same color as her skin...it had a scab over it when I noticed it and I pulled it off. It hasn't scabbed back over. |
