| Yorkie pup for Rotwieler!!!!!!!! OMG A lady called about one of my pups. One of my friends referred her to me. Thanksgiving they will be 8wks old. She thought they were 5wks. Anyways she wanted to know if I would let her take one of my pups for a week. She wanted to see if it would get along with her Rotwieler. I told her my pups don't leave these premises without being paid for. Then she said,"Well I will be traveling 400 miles, would you refund me my money, if in a weeks time they don't get along." I told her I would not return her money, infact I won't even sell you a pup. I don't sell pups on a trial basis, I have invested alot of money into this litter. I have 3 generations here with all Pedigrees and DNA's. I am starting their shots Saturday and I have been very careful in protecting them from diseases that are out there. They can't be exposed to other dogs and then returned that is irresponsible. I don't think you'll find any breeder that would do this. I ended the conversation by," You should get a 4 month old puppy from the pound, it will have had all it's shots."

| Some people aren't familiar with the whole disease thing. I think they believe that all pups are safe from those kinds of things. The rott thing wouldn't bother me, it is the ignorance thing. I have a Mastiff mix and her and my 7lb yorkie get along great; she is even gentle with the pups. I'm glad you told her no, who knows what could happen. MY new litter is due Thanksgiving, and besides the birthing, I dread finding them thier forever homes. Good Luck!

| Actually SImon grew up with 2 rotties! My best friend had them and they were very well trained (one was K-9 with the local police force) and treated Simon like a baby! I know they are not all like that but Simon, Tracker and Jesse got along great! |

| I didn't mind the Rot it was the fact the she didn't consider the health of the pup. That she, whom I don't know, never met. Wanted to just take the pup without paying for it too!!! Also I know the other dog is probably sweet, but we're dealing with an expensive puppy. I personally put a whole lot of love to these pups. I am a small breeder and my last litter was August of 2004. ttreatyorkies, good luck with your Litter this Thanksgiving. How appropriate Thanks .

Oh I totally agree with you! I wouldn't have let her have one either, I just wanted to say that sometimes (with excellent training) rotties and yorkies can get along great! I agree with your decision completely! Good luck finding the babies safe, good, loving forever homes | |

| Wow As for the whole Rottweiler thing...I had a Rottie and she was the absolute best. She got along well with another smaller doggie that I had. Both of them would play together and she never hurt the smaller doggie. Sadly, my baby had to be put down on Thanksgiving. But I'm sure that lady's doggie is actually well behaved. Not all Rotties are bad, it's just how they are raised that will make the dog turn out the way it does. But that lady did seem very rude and not very careful about reading all of the information about diseases. That's why I'm reading Yorkshire Terriers for Dummies. I want to make sure I know what I need to look out for when I get my puppy. I think you did the right thing...you need to protect the health of those little innocent babies. |

| It is easy to make assumptions when you get hit with info from a first time contact..I do not have a problem with people that have bigger dogs, since I have three that get along fine with my yorks. The important thing in placing pups is having a good rapport with the people you are planning to let adopt. I do allow people that take my pups to return them up to 10 days just in case things aren't what they expected. I would MUCH rather have a pup come back than have it endure a situation that isn't going to work. |

| Some people just need to be taught more about puppies. I think some just honestly have no clue.
