| Going to a new groomer.... YIKES!!! Amazing how distraught I am at the mere thought of them going to a new groomer. I moved and Ive been taking them to their old groomer for a year now, but it's too much for me, its a 1/2 hour away. I had to find a new groomer. I heard about this place near my new place that is supposedly really good. I called them and talked to the guy for 20 mins.... the guy was soooo patient with me. I was the 'crazy dog lady'!!! I even told him I was going to be! I asked him if they crated the dogs because I want my boy crated. Dexter doesn't do well with other dogs and grooming him is already traumatic enough for him that he does not need to be mixed with other dogs. So he says yes. THEN I ask him if he'll crate both my boys together because my last groomer said they got anxious when they weren't together. So he said yes, he would. (what is up with 'free roam' groomers lately??? It scares me that my 6lb boy would be in a room with 10 other dogs of all sizes and not in a crate. He would be more traumatized by that, than by being in a crate where he is safe!) Then I asked for a tour. He told me if no other dogs were back there I could go back, but if there was, then I could look in from the HUGE window they have that you can see the whole shop! Then I asked if he used clippers. He said "not on little dogs, we scissor cut them" which made my day! My boys get razor burn so easily and my last groomer charged me $5 for a scissor cut (even though I had told her that one got razor burn so bad he got an infection and I had to take him to the vet and get him on antibiotics for 10 days that cost me $130!). I told him how much of a mess Dexter was, all matted and he hates being brushed and he told me that if he had to, he would assist with comforting him while the groomer works on him. There may be a slight charge for that though. He then told me the salon has been open for 5 years, his wife and her friend have been grooming together almost 10 years. Its family owned and they do not advertise except word of mouth. He said their reputation keeps them in business so they do the best job possible and take the best care of all dogs and their special needs in order to keep people coming to them. They are the same price as my old groomer and they do teeth brushing for $10! I'm nervous but excited to see what they look like when they are done! Its weds morning they are going. 6 days! (and it's long overdue!)

| It sounds like they are a great grooming facility. And it sounds like he was considering what was important to you. My first groomer was terrible so I know how nerve racking it is to go to a new groomer and get used to them. However we found one that the owner is the groomer and the place she grooms at doesnt look like much from the outside but she knows how to make a yorkie look wonderful and she is so patient with all dogs with all personalities. I refered someone from on here to her to and they loved her too. I hope your grooming experience goes well and they give your cuties an adorable cut.

| good luck and hope all goes well! my girls just got a new groomer and got their 1st cuts from her a week ago. everything turned out great. she was really good with my babies. and as an added bonus, she is a mobile unit so my babies were groomed right outside of my home!

| Oh a mobile groomer! How great would that be? Usually when I drop my boys off at the groomer, they are there for 6-7 hours (no lie). Its a VERY long process. If it were a mobile groomer I bet my boys would be done in 2 hours at most!

| I wish my groomer was a mobil groomer. We don't have any of those around here. Miki comes to work with me every day, so I have to leave work to bring her & then go pick her up. She's a little stinker to groom, so she's always there for at least 3 hours! By then I'm really missing her (& so are my regular customers in our store). Glad to know that 3 hours is not that unusal. |

| yes, one of the best points was how fast they were done... Pixie went 1st and was back inside looking beautiful in a little over an hour! zowi was done about 45 minutes later! I used to be so worried when they would be gone for about 5 hours or so when i took them to a salon.
