| preparing for a trip I dread pulling out the suitcases to start packing for our little three day trip next weekend. Even though Callie is going with us she sees the suitcases and will cry and watch me like crazy. I have only left her with my grandparents twice and she is 4, once was for one night and the other time was for 5 nights and she was spoiled while I was gone my grandma even slept in my bed so she wouldn't have to either sleep by herself or sleep in another room. Does any one else's baby's get upset when they see the suitcases come out? The day we leave (we have taken this trip several times) she will walk around crying sometimes even shaking even after putting her harness on.

| Mine are the same, I have taken to packing in my closet- I have a walk in closet so I just put the suitcases in there when the dogs are in another room and then I pack in there with the door shut.

| We always take our 14 year old toy poodle with us. He has his own little suitcase. If I pack ours first, he cries and looks so sad and if I pack his first, he runs around barking and wanting to go NOW. I think the packing in the walk in closet with the door shut is a fantastic idea and will put it to use next trip. I'm not sure how else to train my new Yorkie puppy to behave while I pack her suitcase. At least she won't understand it until she's older. |

| Aww how cute! My babies never done that before...but they've only been away from us one night and they're almost two. My bf is reluctant in having others care for them. They usually come where we go...we try to include them in everything. They do like hotels though!

| My girls have never been left. They go everywhere we go. If I go to my sisters then my husband will stay at home with them. They still go crazy when they see the suitcases come out. It is so hard to pack with 2 dogs in your arm. I am so afraid I will step on one of them it is easier to carry them. They do have me trained! lol

| Harley gets mad at us when we start piling bags, but he always comes with us, he gets excited when we finally grab him and bring him downstairs to the car. But for that 1 hour he definitely knows we're going somewhere and he makes himself known so we don't forget him

| Jackson can get weird, too! Any time I've left him he's at my dads house with their fenced in yard and their dogs and treated like a KING but he still misses me a ton! The funny thing is though... when we go to my dads house (with me there!) and then I pack up to leave and go back home, he runs away from me when I bring out the harness because he wants to STAY there and not come home with me!! LOL.. What the heck, he needs to make up his mind!!!
