| Thundershirt Owners help please I got Charlie a thundershirt and it seems to be helping but I ordered Xsmall as his measurements fell into that category but it looks like it is to small compared to the picture on the packaging it came in, can you look at this picture of Charlie in his shirt and tell me if it is to small??? Now I do have the next size up as well, SMALL (no picture) but it seems like I wouldnt be able to wrap it tight enough to do the job. ( to much material ) the picture on the pkging has a dog with a shirt that goes to the end of his body and the neck part seems to sit lower on his chest, Charlies sits more on his neck (worriesome) let me know what you think

| This is my exact same issue with Cooper. The xs is fairly small but the small is huge. I kept the xs and even though it looks tiny on him, it is functional. Here is Cooper: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...undershirt.jpg Here is Max: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...undershirt.jpg They look like 1/2 shirts. They need to be snug around the chest and I just wasn't getting that from the size small.

| Karen, would you say then that Jackson would probably be too big for the XS? I'm guessing he'd be a small... but don't want it to be too loose either.

| He's 16 pounds? Gosh he's probably right between the 2. There's a huge difference between the 2 sizes. If I were you, if you could afford to, order both and return 1. But if I had to guess I'd say small.

| see this is the exact issue. Charlie weighs 13 lbs I have both small and x small the SMALL I will have to wrap around him like a burrito and I dont think it will be tight enough to serve the purpose not without becoming uncomfortable from all the wraps of material. and you are right there is a BIG diff between xsmall and small. the small seems to fit him "picture wise" but doesnt fit where it needs to on his body for its purpose (if that make sense) I just wanted to make sure I was using it correctly and it does seem that the xsmall is going to be the way to go. I am going to keep watching this thread though to see if there are any others with this issue and what they have done. thank you for your posts BTW this is such a nice group to come to

| I just ordered the xsmall thundershirt for Chase. Since he's pretty much in between sizes, I emailed them (2 times, but only heard back from the 2nd one). Here is what I sent them Message: I have a sizing question. My dog is about 17" around (give or take an inch) and is about 14 lbs. Not sure if I should get the small or xsmall? Please let me know. Thank you, Their response We do suggest going with the smaller of the two sizes if stuck in between. | I don't think the length of the shirt matters whatsoever. Here is a photo I just took of Max. He's 13.2 pounds and his girth is almost 16.5. The chest needs to fit snug. The small on him was just way too big and loose on him. Ignore his angry face. It's naptime.

He's just a bit smaller than Chase. When my boyfriend measured his girth, he got 16.5, but I got 17.5. I'm sure the xsmall will be good. Is it still helping Max? | |

| No, Max is already invincible. He's not afraid of storms. It definitely is no help with the barking during our walks. It works wonders for Cooper though during storms.

| That's right, I'm sorry. I remember from the thundershirt review thread now. Calvin barks on walk too, but I doubt this would help him either. It wouldn't fit him anyway. I am glad it is working for Cooper so well. I hope we have the same success! |

You want to hear something funny..... Now that Charlie has thundershirt when it is storming outsdie he now goes to the front door and barks so that he can go out on the porch. he still shakes while he is out there but its like the shirt makes him confront his fear LOL So now when its storming I tell him how brave he is with his thundershirt on

| I'm just speculating here, but part of me thinks the Thundershirt works because of our (the human's) attitude. Dogs are very receptive to our behavior. I know that when I put the Thundershirt on Cooper I immediately feel a sense of relief and strength. Hmm.... That's Max' "this is bulls**t, mom" look.
