| 15 week old puppy Hi I'm new to the yorkietalk community & I have a female puppy a little over 15 weeks & she is just so sweet & I love her ! I was just wondering how many pounds your yorkie weighed at 15 weeks & how old your is now & how much he/she weighs now ? B/c I'd like to make sure she is at good & healthy weight now. (she is shy of 3lbs now) Thanks |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome and congratulations. I think the rule of thumb for estimating their adult weight is double their weight at 12 weeks. Not all of them follow that rule. I think Roxie was about 3 lbs at 15 weeks and now at 3 is 5 1/2 lbs.

| Thank you very much patti, yea my Cupcake, she's around 3lbs and around 16 weeks now, I just want to make sure she's around a good weight b/c I want her to be around for a long time, I hear of yorkie puppies dying all the time & it just makes me so sad, they are just so cute & lovable. But I think I wont have that problem b/c the breeder I purchased Cupcake from seemed like a very honest & lovely person. As well as took care of her own dogs very well. Thanks for your response

| Welcome!! My Teddie was around 3.5 pounds at 12 weeks, and he is now a little over 7 pounds at almost 20 weeks. He's not gonna be an itty baby, but I wasn't looking for him to be. This place is awesome for advice on everything, everyone is so knowledgeable and helpful here. You'll have no problems keeping your baby happy and healthy with their info. Congrats on your furbaby...

| Welcome to YT. Jett weighed about 1 pound 4 ozs at 15 weeks. He is now 6 months and is 2 pounds 4 ozs or 6 ozs depending on the day. Bella was a bit bigger......was probably 2 pounds at 15 weeks, maybe a BIT under. She is now 1 year old and just hit 4 pounds 14 ozs. (She put on close to a pound in a month and a half.) She was just under 4 pounds until that time. Had stayed at 3 pounds 15 ozs for about 4 months, then whammo. Big weight gain. Gotta love her!!!

| I really appreciate all the positive responses. & I'd thought I give a little update on my baby , at 12 weeks she was 2lbs exactly & she is currently 7 1/2 months & weighing 3 1/2 lbs , but it fluctuates depending or not she's gone to the bathroom hehehe

| Tessie is 2 and weighs 12 lbs, Hobbes is 2 and weighs 16 lbs, Calvin is almost 2 and weighs 11 lbs, Sassy is almost 1 and weighs 6 lbs, so you never know. They all started out very small.
