| There's no exact science to it, about a year old is good. It's basically once they're done with a majority of their growing. Just remember to do it gradually

| I am in the process of switching over to Wellness Super5Mix for Puppy, Minnie is being weaned off Science Diet. Hoping she does great with the switch. I am not sure when I will switch to adult food with her yet. Fingers crossed we can stay on Wellness. Maybe thinking of keeping her on the puppy kind a little longer since she is so small. |

| I switched Fiona over to adult food when she was about 10 months old....Whenever you change up their food, it is best to do so over a 3 day period...Day 1, mix about 4-5 pieces of the new food to the old food, Day 2, mix about 50% of the new food to the old food, and then Day 3, just give the new food, with maybe a little old kibble in there. Fiona has an iron stomach, so, she took well to the new food with ease!

I would consult with your vet about when to switch him over, since puppy food is higher in some calories and other things ( sorry, im at a loss of what im trying to say here! ) , you may wanna get adult food, and mix it with the puppy food too!

| I use "all life stages" foods, so no need to switch. I tried puppy food, but my senior would get into the puppy food and the puppy would get into the senior food, so ALS solved that issue. I have never had luck with gradual transition, either. They tend to eat only the new stuff, leaving the old kibble spread out all over the floor. Luckily I've never seen a digestive upset from a quick transition, but they don't get any "junk" dog food, so I guess that helps.
