| He won't walk if I put a coat on him !!! Help My baby is a year and a half and he has spent most of his life in Florida so no need for a coat. We went to Washington DC a couple of weeks ago and I had purchased everything I thought he might need including a nice warm quilted coat. It was quite cold there so I put the coat on him before we went out for our walk, but he would not walk with the coat on, just sat there looking at me. I ended up taking the coat of and every hundred yards or so I picked him up to heat him up inside my coat! That worked but I would like him to walk with HIS coat on, any suggestions? PS We are going to England this summer......... |

| I agree with Mardelin, try starting out with something more light weight. I can't help from experience since I got Alice at 5 months old and in the winter so she had a hoodie on the first day I got her and was fine with it, but the other thing I can think of is - try working with him like you would teach to "come". Put it on him in the house an hold out a treat and ask him to come to you. Idk if that will work, just a thought

| He is just not use to wearing clothing. Recently Pebbles had a sore on her paw and I had to use a KisseCollar. She did not like it at all and would not move. But I sat her on my lap for a little while and eventually she began moving around. Within a few hours she was much more comfortable and now she behaves normally. Instead of putting the coat on for a walk let him wear it while in the house and become accustom to the feel. Like Mardelin suggested even start with something lighter like a tshirt. The only thing with clothes is that you need to make sure to brush them out well after taking it off. Treats will also help

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | I have found mine like the ones with no sleeves. If they have sleeves the do not like them. But ones without they do great. Good luck

| Andy loves his clothes. In the winter he wears a full snow suit and boots. He looks so cute

| I am constantly learning something new from your posts! I had no idea clothing was bad for the coat on our dogs. I am curious about why though, is it because of blocking the oils or air from their skin? Just found it interesting, especially from a poster that I am positive knows her stuff so thanks for the information
