| My furry little protecter At about 8:30 this morning there was a terrible crash that sounded like glass being broke. I jerked awake to find a old chandelier lamp that my great grandmother had given me had fallen to the floor and make a horrible racket falling into the fish tank on the way down. The fish tank was fine and so was the lamp so other then a half hour of missed sleep no harm done. however when i came back into the bedroom i noticed that my chi-weenie foster was shaking like crazy the fish wear schooled down in the bottom corner of the tank the guinea pigs wear huddled together in the igloo. And Gatsby was standing in front of the lamp growling and snarling at the mess of colored disks that make up the most part of the lamp I calmed everyone down the best i could and picked up the lamp but when i hung it back up Gatsby growled at it like crazy and barked and would not settle down. I think I may need to rehome my lamp.

| Maya spent half an hour growling at a mop handle that had fallen in front of the kitchen dooway and was blocking it. I didn't right it as I figured a good furious growl and work out is good for her now and then. WHen I got tired of hearing it, I straightened the broom and episode over. I think they have OCD

| Yes, they make good protectors... I am forever protected from intruding birds and leaves... when we travel home to my mom's house Harley makes sure he keep the sea gulls away (even though we feed them).

| Gosh! That would have scared me so bad I think I would have fainted on the way to check out the problem! Gatsby sounds adorable - just like a Yorkie being the official Security Guard on the premises and giving the offender a goodly piece of his mind for doing what it did to upset things! I think many terriers get grouse-y and rumble for a long time after an upset in the house. All my Yorkies have been just like Gatsby. Tibbe carries on for a long, long time after something fouls his peace.

| Gatsby is very silly about protecting me. He guards my sleep like crazy I live two doors down from a high school and if I'm not up by the time the kids start walking past(my kids have to be at school an hour later then them) he will sit in the bedroom window and bark as if to tell them to be quite the only problem is he wakes me up in the process.
